Fall Bucket List Update

I thought I'd do a little update on my Fall Bucket List progress.
Apple Picking, check!
{apple picking selfie}
Make Crock Pot Applesauce, check. I've made this at least 3 times this season.
Try some Blue Moon Caramel Apple Spiced Ale, check!
Bonus-tried another seasonal ale.
Nature Walk, check..took many but not many photos of them.

Collect Acorns, check(thanks mostly to my neighbor).
Plant Bulb, check. I didn't plant many and we'll see if they make it but at least I tried.
Hay Ride, check! Not the best photo of our fun hayride party with friends but proof we were on one.
Try 3 new Savory Pumpkin Recipes, check-ish?
I counted this one as close enough to pumpkin.
Lightened Up Pumpkin Ravioli (made with won tons).
My friend "G" said that I inspired her to try a new savory pumpkin recipe and she made this amazing pumpkin soup for my fancy birthday dinner.  Yum!

Other treats were discovered, like Apothic Dark red wine.
It's my new favorite wine and only available seasonally. boo!
Enjoying some of it by the first fire of the season is another fall treat.

An old favorite, these are hard to find sometimes.
Pizza on the grill, check and....
Chuh-eck! Two times!!
I've done fairly well but I haven't accomplished it all. I don't think I'll get to a pumpkin patch at this point but I did buy a lot of pumpkins, does that count? #nope
I'm still hoping for the Chili Cook Off Party and S'mores On The Deck--we still have another month of fall, so here's hoping!

{Get Thrifty} Thursday 11.13.14

It was another good thrifting week for me. I wasn't expecting to hit Goodwill but I had some free time while my daughter was at her art class so off I went. I came home with five tops! The pink plaid one is Banana Republic and the black check in Tommy Hilfiger (I love the chambray collar!).  I also found a cute Threshhold (Target brand) bowl that will be good for food shoots.
I snapped up this pie plate with an Irish Proverb.  It will be great for Shepherd's Pie or my Guiness Leek & Cheddar Dip at next year's Irish Night.
It's fun getting a whole bag of stuff for the price of one shirt at the mall!

Apple Picking

A few weekends ago the hubs and I went apple picking at our favorite orchard.
It's good to know the rules!
It was a beautiful day for apple picking.
You don't have to take the tractor wagon out to the orchard but it's kind of fun.
We picked four of the five varieties that they had available.
 By "we", I mean "he".
We He picked Keepsake, Melrose, Fuji and Braeburn apples.
 I had to take pictures!
Here's one of me actually picking some of the apples.
We came home with about 30 pounds of apples.
I immediately started a pot of my Crock Pot Applesauce.
I also made some mini apple crisps by request but other than that, we've been enjoying them au naturale.
