{Travel} Valentine's Day in Boston

I got to tag along on a business trip of Mr. Click's in Boston and it happened to be over Valentine's Day❤️. What better way to spend it?
On our first night we met up with College Girl and her friends for dinner at a Thai restaurant.  Remember these goodie bags?  This is where we gave them out.
I got to have lunch on campus with my girl on Thursday while the hubs was in meetings.
Elevator selfie for funsies on my way to lunch.  We checked out of our (business trip) hotel and moved into one with stunning view closer to campus (personal trip).
Even though it was cold, the views were spectacular from our room.
This lobby was pretty sweet too.
A little vino with my Valentine.
The nighttime views did not disappoint either.
College Girl met up with us and we went out for pizza and did some food shopping with/for her before heading back to our room.
On Friday we had the day to ourselves(College Girl had classes) so we visited  the Isabella Steward Gardner Museum.
It's one we've been wanting to see and we loved it.  We went through the just- opened Botticelli Exhibit and then toured the rest of the museum.
(*Fun fact, if your name is Isabella, you can get into the museum for free! If you wear Red Sox garb, you get a discount.)  Apparently she was a fast driving, cigarette smoking Red Sox fan.  How fun!
The story of how Isabella Steward Gardner started collecting art and opened a museum is fascinating.
She had some snappy quotes in the ladies room.
There was a photo timeline of the museum's history and this one explained the inspiration for the original building.
We also noticed a story about the robbery they experienced in 1990.  It was the largest art heist (over $500 million) in history and is still unsolved. My daughter's friend recommended the podcast Last Seen which investigates the robbery and story. I highly recommend it too. We listened to it on our way home and were captivated! Someone needs to make a movie about this.

The exterior of the building.  After the museum we had lunch and then went for some coffee.

We also passed by the college that my grandmother attended.  She met my grandfather in Cambridge while he was attending Harvard. Pretty cool, right?!
Caffe Nero's cappuccino hit the spot on a cold day.
That night we got to go to a Northeastern hockey game.
Hockey is BIG at this school and the game was so much fun!
The Dog House is the student and pep band section. It wasn't as rowdy that night since the team had just won the Bean Pot.  The next morning we met up with my aunt and uncle who live just outside of Boston.
It was so fun to reconnect with them and spend some time having breakfast with them before we left.  I can't wait to go back!

TBB Asks - February: Relationships

They ask, we answer. Join in if you like!
1)Who is your oldest friend? How did you meet?
I've reconnected with a few childhood friends on Facebook but I still see two of my oldest friends that I met in middle school.

2)Tell us about your circle of support? Who are your people?
We have supportive families on both sides and some great friends too.

3)How did you meet your partner?
We met in high school at a party. We went to different high schools so it was through mutual friends.

4)How is Valentine's Day celebrated in your house?
A special meal with the family that night.  Mr. Click always bought all three of us bouquets when the girls lived at home. Now I send them little gifts and cards.  I still like to decorate for Valentine's Day.

5)What is your love language?
I think it's a tie between words of affirmation and acts of service.

6)Do you prefer receiving flowers or chocolates?
Flowers always!
7)What is the most meaningful gift you have ever given or received or have given?
That's easy, my kids!

TBB Asks - February Love Edition

Today I'm joining in the fun and participating in TBB Asks-February. TBB stands for the The Blended Blog and it's a collective of like minded lifestyle bloggers.  On the first Monday of every month, they have a link up with themed questions.  February is all about love and Valentine's Day, so here goes!
1. Kisses or Hugs? I'm definitely more of a hugger and I'm known to hug people when I first meet them.
2. Candy or Flowers? Definitely flowers!
3. Baking or Cooking? I enjoy both but baking is usually for something festive and cooking is an everyday event so it can get repetitive.
4. Do you remember your first kiss? Yes but I'm not one to kiss and tell. [Insert fuzzy old photo and pretend it was first kiss]
5. Favorite color of roses? I love them all but this coral color is pretty spectacular.
6. Conversation Hearts: Yes or No? Yes, for decorating,no for eating.
7. Do you leave love notes?  I could do better with this!  I am very sentimental though.
8. Do you decorate for Valentine's Day? Yes, I decorate the fireplace mantel and have a few other decorations around the house.
9. Red or Pink? That's tough, I really like them both!
10. Milk, White or Dark Chocolate? Definitely Dark!
11.  Do you believe in love at first sight? Yes, I'm a hopeless romantic.

12. Do you give humorous or serious Valentine's cards? I've given both kinds.  I get them for Mr. Click and my girls.

13.  Favorite Chick Flick or Romantic Movie? Under The Tuscan Sun
and
Love Actually

14. Stay in or go out?  We always stay in for Valentine's Day but maybe we'll start going out next year when we're empty nesters.

That was kind of long so if you're still with me, thank you! You can go link up here if you want to join in. I'd love to see your answers to these questions!
