{Shopping} Back At Aldi

It's another Aldi haul! I've really warmed up to Aldi and now I can't stay away.

Starting with this cheerful doormat...it makes me smile when I open the door. 

We're trying their almond milk.  The price is great!

With our new Nespresso obsession, I couldn't resist these espresso mugs.

I tried the yellow lentil lasagna sheets and loved them so I'm going for the green now.

This dressing caught my eye. It does contain dairy, fyi.

This is the second kind of protein granola that I tried. Very yummy!

A few snacks for the Super Bowl. Go Birds!!

{The Abode} Annual Porch Refresh

Every spring we need to clean up the front porch.  

It gets so dirty and beat up over the winter.

This is how we started out.  

The siding and the concrete were quite dirty.

This year we purchased a new portable pressure washer to help with the  job. 

It does make the job a lot easier.

It doesn't hurt to have some help either.

I picked up a new outdoor rug from Costco.

I also added a fern to the planter and a few flowers in pots.

I love when it's all spiffy!

Easy Target Dollar Spot Fall Decorations

Happy Halloween! Of course I didn't need any new fall decor but this idea was too good to pass up.

I stole saw this idea over at Andrea's blog and loved what she did with the cute burlap bags from the Target Dollar Spot.

She stuffed them with  newspaper and used them as porch decorations.  #genius #thankyouandrea

I had seen them there but didn't know what I'd do with them. I was so happy there were some left the next time I was at Target.

The  other thing that I love about this decoration is that it can be easily folded up and stored for next year and doesn't take up much room. I'm all about downsizing and minimizing my decorations lately.

{DIY} Tiny Table Makeover

This was such a quick and easy makeover! #spraypaintlove

The little side table started out like this.  I got it at Target about five years ago and its lived on our front porch ever since.   You can see it in the photo below from a previous post.

{New Porch Rug}

It no longer worked out there but I didn't want to get rid of it without at least trying to give it a makeover.  I used one can of Rustoleum Metallic Paint and Primer in Oil Rubbed Bronze.

 I love the result! 

 Now I'm using it out on the deck where it matches our new deck furniture (more on that in an upcoming post).   Don't you love my fluffy asparagus fern? (Thank you Cindy for  inspiring me to get one!) ❤️

 It's a great spot to hold a book and a drink too.

For reference I spray painted the top and bottom of the table top.

Just a reminder of what it used to look like...

..and now in its oil rubbed bronze glory!

{The Abode} Annual Porch Refresh

It seems like every Spring we need to refresh the porch a bit. Winter takes it's toll on it and it's usually in need of some TLC.

Spring has also left it's mark on the porch and furniture..lots of pollen!

We also have lots of green mold. Lovely!

While we're waiting for the power washers to arrive, I zhuzhed it up a bit with a new (yet very old) ladder. I told my friend that I was looking for an old ladder for photo shoots and she had one for me. Score!

 I think it makes a nice display shelf on the porch too.  I grabbed a few things to place on the ladder rungs.  I'm sure I'll be tweaking this as summer progresses.

 The chairs got cleaned and we added a new rug from Target. The original rug I bought from Michael's was too big.  The outdoor pillows came from Michael's.  It's amazing what some flowers and greenery can do to perk up a space.  I brought a plant outside that hasn't been great inside. We'll see how it fares.

 I need to fill this ladder up with more plants and flowers.

 A new watering can in a bright, fun color (from Ikea) always freshens up the space.

 That green tea tin makes a great fresh cut flower holder, I just added a small mason jar with water to hold the stems.  I love the color!

Once it gets power washed and put back together, it's going to be even more spiffy!

New Porch Rug

This was a quick switcher-roo on the front porch. 

The old rug from my Porch In Progress post was starting to show it's age (3 years!) and it was time for a new one.  I found this handsome black and white striped one at Ikea (where else?) and switched out the old blue and white one.

Easy peasy!  I love how a little rug out there grounds the two rocking chairs.

Now for a side by side comparison.  Sometimes small changes make a big impact.
