Aldi Finds Lately

I don't think I'd been to our local Aldi in over a year and it was high time I gave them another  visit.   I had a pretty good haul!
These crisps are delicious.  They could be a little less salty but are still yummy!
In the frozen/fridge section I found some goodies.  So far I've tried the chickenless patties and the vegan mozzarella. Both are good. I like to keep frozen butternut squash around for recipes like
Pie crust is also a great staple to keep in the freezer for
The Basil Gnocchi seemed to be a special item.  The pasta sounded good and the 90 Second Seven Grains pouch was so quick and tasty.
I made a few Buddha Bowls with the grain mix.
The Carrot  Cake  Dessert  Hummus must be seasonal too. It's good on an apple but I think  graham crackers would be even better. The organic coffee was a great price and it was a good brew too.    Their organic cane sugar is a great deal as  well. I can get it at Costco but the bags are too big for our sugar usage.
I also picked up an almond butter--I like this size because we don't use it too frequently. It's got a nice roasted almond flavor.   The Cinnamon Balance cereal tastes just like Cinnamon Life! What are your  favorites from  Aldi?

Favorite Prime Purchases & Show Recommendation

We've been using Prime more than ever lately and here are some of my favorites from the last year.

I started with the smaller bottle of this nail and cuticle oil and it's lasted over  3 months while using it at least twice a day.  My nails look a lot healthier and feel stronger.

I thought  my old Nook Color Reader was dying and my last ditch effort was to get a new cable. It worked! Now I can continue borrowing e-books from the library.

These sneakers have been worn on repeat for my daily walks. They are so lightweight and comfortable.  They can be worn with or without socks. I'm looking to order the Apricot color for a spring/summer neutral.

I got this for Christmas and I'm a  convert!  The silk is much easier on my hair and skin at night.
I wanted a bigger doormat for the front door to layer with my other decorative doormats.  It definitely needs another heavier one on top or it will blow around.

This mascara  has a cult following and over 124,000 reviews. For $5 it was worth a try. It gives great volume and such a deal!

Someone recommended this Amazon Original  Series to me and I loved  it!  Here's the synopsis.
In the summer of 1985, 20-year-old David Meyers takes a job as a tennis pro at Red Oaks Country Club in suburban New Jersey, as his parents, girlfriend, and co-workers pull him toward a future he's increasingly unsure he wants.

See the trailer here
If you like 80's movies and nostalgia, I think you'll enjoy it too!

{Get Thrifty} Winter Thrifting

It's fun to get thrifting again and I've found a new thrift shop near my house.

Here's my haul from a recent trip and from one in December.
I love scoring Lauren Conrad tops (on left) while thrifting.   I'm a fan of the boho patterns and flow-y designs.  I also cannot pass up a good striped shirt! I've worn this GAP shirt a few times already.

On a morning walk.

I found grey sweater with a bit of sparkle and some black jeans. I also picked up the  sweet cameo pin.  You never know what you're going to find!

My favorite place to get flannels is definitely the thrift store. They are nicely broken in and super  soft.
I found this round cutting board and cleaned it up, then applied mineral oil to bring  back its natural beauty. I loved this little quiche dish. It will be great for dips and smaller baked dishes.  Have you been thrifting lately?

{Recipe} Healthy Seed Bark

This healthy seed bark is a mildly sweet treat that is fully of healthy seeds and a kick of ginger!

It's so easy to make and keeps well in an airtight container for weeks.
1 1/2  cups raw pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
1/4 cup raw (or toasted) sesame seeds
1/4 cup ground flaxseed
2 TBS chia seeds
1/4 cup crystallized ginger, diced  (optional, but highly recommend)
2-3 TBS maple syrup

To make:
Preheat oven to 350ºF.
Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
Add all of the ingredients (except maple syrup) to a large bowl, stir to combine.
Add maple syrup and stir well to coat all of the seeds.

Pour out onto lined baking sheet, spreading out to about 1/4"-1/3" thick.
Use another sheet of parchment paper on top to press it out evenly.
Bake for 18 minutes, flipping pan halfway through baking.
Keep an eye on it so it doesn't burn.
Remove from oven and let it cool for about 20 minutes, you'll  hear it crackling as it crisps up and cools.
Break it up  into bite size pieces.
Once completely cool, store in an airtight container.
This is a lot like a crunchy granola and I love it on top of my oatmeal or by itself  as a snack.

{Photography} VIP Head Shots

I got to photograph two very special clients when they were home.
College Girl needed a  photo for her co-op  job.
City Girl also needed some new shots and let me take some of her.  I used natural light and a handmade backdrop for both of the sessions.   I'm working towards studio lighting and I need more models!

Trader Joe's Finds

We made another TJ's run and found some goodies!

These artichokes  were huge and looked amazing! I've never cooked them so I didn't  buy any.
They seemed like a good deal so I should try to make them  one day.
I just finished up this bottle of dish soap and it performed pretty well.

They were out of my favorite  coconut oil spray so I got the olive oil spray.

I  noticed this nice set of essential oils with wool diffuser. This used to be a seasonal item so it was nice to see it.
I love this colorful trivet!
I'd  heard good things about  Snoop Dogg's 19 Crimes Cali-Red.  We picked one up but haven' t tried it yet.
This sounded so good  (and dangerous!).
It was fun to see  Brooklyn Lager--we've visited their brewery with City Girl.
I needed a shot of spring and for $1.79, these cut daffodils made me happy.

I was  able to get 2 bouquets out of them.   They have bloomed all the way since this photo and are still  going strong a week later!
I'm not sure if I've  gotten  the Fat Free Refried Beans before but I needed them for a recipe so I'm trying them.
I always pick up a jar of the Fire  Roasted Red Peppers,  I like to keep them in the pantry for pasta and veggie dishes.
These crackers looked good and they were!
I love picking up cards at TJ's. They always have a good selection and they're only $.99/each!
These Frozen Artichoke Hearts were new to me. I love adding them to roasted veggies.
I picked up the Beer  Bread  Mix and we made it  with a Brooklyn Lager and a half stick of melted vegan butter.
It was so light and fluffy with a crispy topping. Yum! What have been getting at TJ's lately?
