 I had the privilege of photographing this handsome guy over the summer.

Of course it felt like THE hottest day of the year but he was a cool customer.

He's definitely a pro at this whole modeling thing....

...and a professional actor to boot!

But we know him as one of the sweetest, kindest most amazing kids around!!

He was such a good sport and I think he actually enjoyed his session.

A Few Things Friday

Cheers to Friday!!  Here are a few things I've been enjoying lately.

 The warmer weather when the bar opens the doors and meeting friends for a drink.

 These cauliflower wings..so good!

When it's time to put up the Easter decorations but it can still be chilly enough for a fire.

 Finally seeing more signs of Spring!

This is my favorite tree right now.  The blooms only stick around for a very short time.

 It was humming with bee activity when I took this.

 I've been making my version of Panera's Strawberry Poppyseed Chicken Salad.  (Mine uses Gardein meat free tenders).

 I've been trying to scale back my Easter decor but I couldn't resist this adorable doormat from Kirklands.

{Entertaining} Chili Cook Off 2019

We hosted our 4th Annual Chili Cook Off a few weeks ago. We usually have it on Halloween but since we were in Edinburgh this year, we had to reschedule.  The weekend before Super Bowl seemed like a perfect time.

 We worked on new ballots this year to make the voting less complicated.

 Mr. Click devised this system and it seemed to work well. We're always tweaking the system and trying to make it the most fair voting system it can be.

 The house was all set up and ready for our guests. It's a relatively easy party to throw because your guests help supply the food. I made corn bread muffins and had the rest of the fixings ready to go (cheese, chips, sour cream). I also served a few snacks and made brownies for dessert.

 The tasting and voting begins!

 Our 2019 winners!! Woo hoo!  After voting, we enjoyed more chili (of course!) and played  a few hours of Quiplash. Our stomachs hurt from laughing so much.

I had fun decorating the 'trophies' this year with some Dollar Tree pom poms (the wooden spoons are from DT too). It's all in good fun and it was another successful cook off! We had some really creative chilis to pick from: pizza chili (with pepperoni and mozzarella cheese), blackened mesquite chicken and sausage chili, barbecue chicken chili, traditional beef chili and three vegetarian entries as well.

Weekend Wrap Up

Last weekend was a lot of fun, some of it planned and some of it not..here's a recap!

 Mr. Click's band had a gig and of course I had to take a Snapchat selfie of  my outfit.

 It's an overall dress/jumper. What do you think? I'm still on the fence but I wore it with tights and high booties.  I love my overalls!

 The town was hopping that night, it was such a perfect fall evening.

Did you catch their performance on my Instagram Stories? I'm trying to get better with that!

 On Saturday we set out to attend VegFest 2018 in Phoenixville, PA. It was such a cute town and the food offerings were so good! First we started with some seitan buffalo wings.

 See how cute?

 We couldn't resist this bakery and picked up a baguette for later.

 How often can you get vegan gelato so I treated myself to some dark chocolate peanut butter.  I got the kid size so it doesn't count, right?

 We also tried Soy Cafe's mac and cheez with coconut bacon. Mr Click was a fan and he doesn't even like coconut!  We didn't want to eat too much (but we totally could have) because we had plans to meet up with some friends (and band mates later).

 Here's the crew. We sat outside at a tiki bar and it was so relaxing and fun!

I ordered the meze platter as my entree with lots of hummus, olives, artichokes and pita bread.   So good!
