Early Halloween Shopping at IKEA

 I know, I know...it's too early to think about Halloween! It was even earlier when I placed this Ikea order for some Halloween decor.

I just couldn't resist and I was pretty sure it would sell out early.   I also didn't know when I would be getting to an Ikea.

I love this little lantern with a kitty on one side....

...and a ghost on the other. 

 I'm a sucker for anything cat related!  I thought the pillow was a cover...oops!! but that's ok. It's not too big and I'm using it now since it only screams cat lady.

I needed a few other practical items so that was my excuse *cough cough* for ordering some whimsical decor.   I love these shelves and those fold down hooks will come in handy.  I am getting excited about fall decorating and of course, Halloween but these new decorations will have to wait.

{Thrifting} July Thrifting

 July was a really good month for thrifting! I didn't realize how much I had gotten until I pulled the photos from my phone.

This haul was from one Saturday morning at one or more places - I can't remember if it was all from more than one shop but I know I went to a few.

The Nestle tin has a a different season on each side. It's charming. I'm using the vase out by the pool and the mug is from Anthropologie.  Willow checked out her new toy.  The birthday card was an additional one for Mr. Click. It played "Rhinestone Cowboy" when opened.

I always need a new plain white t-shirt for summer and this LOFT one is super soft.  

This light green bubble hem blouse is also from LOFT.

We went to our first estate sales this month.  We checked out two in our area. The jacket was free, as the sellers offered it to me after I purchased the recipe box for $1.  I thought City Girl #2 would like the jacket and she does.

The recipe box is stuffed full of recipes and I'm enjoying looking through them.

We found these items at a another estate sale in the garage.  The wicker rolling cart is a perfect addition out by the pool as a side table with storage. I cleaned it up and I may repaint it one day. The flameless candles no longer worked but I replaced them with new ones and they are also now out by the pool.

I scored three tops at the consignment shop and love them all.

I went to a community yard sale sponsored by a local ladies auxiliary group.  

I almost picked this up for CG#2 for her junk journaling but I couldn't get it to work. I love the look of it though.

There were two huge areas for shopping and you had to hand the seller the ticket and they would write down the cost and you paid for it all at the end.   I came home with a cute kitty puzzle, some silver spreaders and a small glass vase.

The spreaders polished up nicely.

{Mostly} Thrifted Gallery Wall In The Guest Room

 This was such an easy gallery wall and I can keep adding or swap out art as we live with it.

We started with the arrangement below with some self portraits done by our daughters, our framed wedding invitation, some art prints and two thrifted pieces.

It was fine but I wanted to add some more interest to the wall.  I had some black frames that I was no longer using and a few thrifted frames that I had collected.   I needed "art" and realized that I had some photos and a few post cards that could work. 

 I asked ChatGPT for an arrangement based on what we had and what we wanted to add.  It wasn't perfect but it was a good start. There was no way that the round frame could fit where they positioned it but I was able to find a different spot for it.

The thrifted owl frame has a photo of sweet, dearly missed Nessa and the thrifted shell frame holds a photo of Jinx Monsoon from the Broadway show Oh Mary.  She is in there as a place holder until I find something more personal, but for now she works!

I'm so happy with how it turned out!

{Thrifting} June Thrifting

I managed to get a few thrifting trips in this past month. 

My daughter  (CG #2)and I went to the local church thrift shop and both got a few things. I found the decorative bird plate, fork, candle sticks and table runner. 

Here's how I've been displaying the plate in the kitchen.  I've been using the table runner outside and the candle sticks are on our dining table.

In this recent post I mentioned that we found chairs for CG #2 on FB Marketplace. This was the inspiration photo of styles that she was looking for.

I think we did pretty well! She is loving them in her apartment.

I wanted to find some accessories for around the pool and really did well at my favorite consignment shop.  I couldn't believe that the large William Sonoma wooden lantern was originally $199.   The original price sticker was still on the bottom.  

I added some flameless candles and they really give off a nice glow.  I'll add some kind of greenery to the basket. I'll have some photos to show you soon. It's coming along!

{Thrifting} May Thrifting

May was a pretty good thrifting month for me.  I've been going to more independent thrift stores and not going to Goodwill as often.

These finds were from my favorite consignment shop that tends to have higher end items and clothing.  I used the serving platter this weekend.  Tinned fish is very in these days!

I checked out a new to me church consignment shop and found some very good deals! That's a Lenox candle stick-- I think I spent $6 for the lot!

I think I found this shirt at Goodwill. I've been looking for a chambray shirt. This one is so soft!

When City Girl #2 was visiting I took her to a huge thrift store that I discovered. She did very well. I did pretty well too! The GAP workout top is my favorite find....well I really love it all!

Back at my favorite consignment shop...I found this pretty lavender blouse. I'm on a lavender kick lately.

October/November Thrift Finds

November isn't technically over yet, but here's everything I've thrifted over the last two months.

I can't believe I found a winter jacket that ticked off all of the boxes I wanted.  I was especially happy for non-zippered pockets.  I'm hoping it will keep me super warm this winter.  

I got this Lauren Conrad blouse, I'm usually a fan of her line and this is another pretty one.

This sweater is similar to the brightly colored cardigan I got a few months ago but in a turtleneck style. I'm loving bright color lately.

I also got a flameless candle, a rainbow umbrella and a red lantern.

The candle and the lantern are for a project I've been working on (coming soon). How cute is the bird on the lantern?

I also had an idea for this umbrella but not sure it will happen.

This was a fun Goodwill score- a whole box of Christmas crackers!
