May Happenings

 Here's what we were up to in May.  Our dear friends came to visit us and we were so excited to show them around.

The pool was opened (yes, we have a pool!). Mr. Click loves to skim it.  

Our new vanity for the bathroom sat in the living room for a few weeks but we could admire it that way.

Mr. Click's band played at Porch Fest and got to perform at this amazing property.

Our favorite thing to do on a Sunday morning is just take a walk and see where we end up.   We explored Ocean Grove and found a cute place for breakfast.

I had my colonoscopy (glad that's over!)

The beach wasn't too crowded as Memorial Day weekend kicked off but it was still early.

The girls came home for the weekend and we got to enjoy the pool.

We barbecued and had quite the spread.

My sister came to visit and we went out for lunch. How pretty are these bowls?

Mr. Click's band had a gig in a bar that was in an old school mall.

It felt like we were back in time!

We got our bikes out for the first time and headed to the ocean!

What have you been up to?   I'm leaving on a big trip tomorrow but will try and post some of it on Instagram.

April Happenings

I am behind in my blogging and thought this would be an April/May post but I will have to make May it's own post as this one is long enough! 

Willow has been settling in and enjoying the views from our windows.

I don't think she saw this guy/gal though!   They didn't stick around long.

Remember the eclipse? We went to the beach to check it out.

We discovered a bocce court near our house.  

I love walking through the little towns around us and finding the local libraries.

I shared that we got a new kitchen faucet in this Costco post and here it is. We love it!

We've also been checking out local eateries.  This place had a really good avo toast!

I took Willow out on the patio for some fresh air and sunshine (on her harness and leash of course).

I still can't believe we can walk to the beach whenever we want to.

Our niece and nephew visited us one weekend. He's saying "Bye Ocean"!

I discovered a local candle/ceramic shop and I'm loving their candles and refills.

Coming home from this NYC trip and I always need some Willow cuddles.

We received this beautiful bouquet of flowers from some very special people.

Happenings Lately-March

Hey, I'm still here! Here's some of what I was up to last month.

We're loving our new hometown and daily walks to the beach.

I thought this was a suspicious grouping of shells and I left them alone.

I have been obsessed with finding sea glass. This was a particularly good day for it!

We went to a local St. Patrick's Day Parade and had great seats right on the parade route. Green beer was a must!

I tried Andrea via Julie's 3 Ingredient Egg Bake. I used more egg whites in mine because I didn't have enough eggs. It still turned out well, it just needed longer to cook. It doesn't look pretty but it was tasty!

We saw another bald eagle on one of our walks!!

We celebrated a soon to be mom in our family at a sweet baby shower.

The girls were home for less than 24 hours for the shower but we managed a quick Easter with them. It was fun to make baskets for them and all of the kitties.

We took them out for coffee and to the beach for a nice morning walk.

We had brunch with them before driving them back to NYC.

We got to look at an apartment with City Girl #2 (she got it!) while we were there and I tried this Turkish salep drink made from orchid-based flour. Very interesting!

Life Lately...We're Moving!

 You may have noticed I haven't been blogging as consistently lately or been around as much.  It's because we've been extra busy....

We bought a house! In another state (about an hour away)! Before we sold our current house! It's been a whirlwind and we haven't moved yet but it's getting close.We've been working on the new house to get it move-in ready.  That started with repainting the whole house.

My brain couldn't handle too many more decisions so I chose Simply White by Benjamin Moore (but used Behr paint from Home Depot) for the entire house. It's a warm white even though it looks super white on the paint fan.

Our painter (Mr. Click) started painting as soon as we had the popcorn ceilings removed (yup, popcorn ceilings in some of the rooms).

We had the ceilings removed starting on day 1. What a mess!

We've spent many hours at the new place and "picnic" there frequently.

We also had the carpets removed from this lower level family room and the office. 

We chose LVP luxury vinyl planks for those spaces.  The floors are Lifeproof Sundance Canyon Hickory from Home Depot.

We also had the upstairs floor refinished. They had been painted with a faux finish(left photo) which we didn't like. I love how the floors came out.

We had to strip some wallpaper from the upstairs hallway. Another huge mess and a lot of work but worth it.

Meanwhile back at our current house this was going on.  The house was under contract (yay!)and the home inspection revealed that the pipes from the house to the street had to be cleaned out and replaced (boo! $$$).   Then we got 24 hours of heavy rain.

We also got a beautiful snowfall. I'm glad we got one more snow before we move.

The For Sale sign was updated, getting exciting!  We've been majorly cleaning, decluttering, donating, selling, recycling, and shredding (on repeat)!  We are downsizing and it's painful but I'm glad we are going through everything now.

We went through so many boxes of old documents and receipts and got them down to two legal boxes. We took them to get shredded and it was so satisfying. Needless to say we've been really really busy but looking forward to being in ONE smaller house soon.

I got a new "do" and I'm loving the shorter length.  I hope to have more new house posts soon. I hope you'll stick around for our latest adventure!
