Easter at The Brooklyn Bonatic Garden

 We were heading back to Brooklyn for Easter this year.

I got in the spirit with some bunny ears.

Willow was not amused.

Getting a few pics before we left.

This tree only blooms for a few days so I like to get a photo of it in bloom. I had Easter baskets for the girls.  It was fun to put some together this year.

We had a little moving to do with City Girl 2 at her old place .  

Of course we stopped for coffee.

I got an iced tea.

We had tickets for the Booklyn Botanic Garden and it was our first visit.

It was beautiful even in early Spring.

Tulips!

It's sure to be even prettier in a few weeks.

I loved these soft yellow flowers.

Of course there were daffodils...

some forget-me-nots...

The cherry blossoms were in full bloom.

We stopped at the Terrain gift shop on the way out.  We went to brunch afterwards but it was pouring so I didn't get any more photos.
 I can't wait to go back!

EASY Dollar Tree Easter Decor

 I can't believe it's almost Easter. Can you?

I've got this very quick and easy project that can be used for any season or holiday theme.

I found all of the supplies at Dollar Tree.   I used plain white ceramic plates, paper napkins and Mod Podge.

First I figured out where I wanted my design on the plate.

I separated the backing from the front of the napkin.

Then I covered the front of the plate with Mod Podge using a foam brush.

I placed the napkin down where I wanted it on the plate and then covered the whole plate again with Mod Podge.

I removed the excess napkin around the edges of the plate by gently pulling it off. It can also be gently sanded off after it dries.  

I added a little more napkin to the plate to extend the image.   I also made a small plate with another napkin.

I let them dry overnight.  I used the matte Mod Podge.  *This is not food safe but you can make them with food safe Mod Podge. I'm using mine for decor only.*

I had fun using them in my Easter decor.

Have you tried this method before? I'll be looking at fancy paper napkins to try it again!

Easter in NYC

We had a quick visit to NYC to see our girls on Easter.

Morning fit check!  It was warm enough for Birks!

We arrived in Williamsburg a little early and got to City Girl #2's apartment. We dropped some things off for her (including my old pantry containers) and took a walk.

We got coffee and stopped at this dog park to watch the cute pups.

We picked up City Girl #1 and drove to Greenpoint.

We had brunch here. I had the shakshuka.

Family ❤️

We walked down the waterfront. The weather was beautiful so it was really nice to just walk around the city.

We stopped for more coffee and this was CG #2's matcha latte.

One more shot before we had to drop them off and go home.

We were back in time for a walk to the beach and some zen time by the ocean.

{Thrifting} More Thrifting for Spring and Easter!

The last few weeks have been a thrifting bonanza for me. I discovered a few new (to me) stores and went back to some old faithfuls too!

This was a little Goodwill haul.  I like collecting ocean/beach themed books as decor. I usually remove the covers, but this one is too good to take off. I hung the mirror in our guest room and knew City Girl #2 would love this mug.

I found this sweet Easter haul at a small, but mighty little shop.

Here's how I styled the bunny plate.

Another GW haul--graphic Guns N Roses t-shirt, goth Mickey and Minnie tank top, vintage nightgown, gingham shorts and an Athleta work out top.

I had to return the gingham shorts but picked up a different pair of shorts that I liked (and kept!).

I found another small haul from two new spots we discovered on the weekend.

I'm enjoying my morning coffee in my new mug!

I found this cute romper...

...and some frames for CG #2's apartment.

They were half off which made them an even better deal!

This was a recent thrifting haul: brand new adult coloring book, an Easter lot of goodies, Yankee Candle plate, Madewell t-shirt and a beautiful carved wooden tray.

This was what was in the Easter lot. I donated most of it but kept a few of the items.

This was something that did NOT come home with me but I found it amusing.

I did some Facebook Marketplace shopping over the weekend and scored this table for my daughter.

I also scored this beautiful buffet to replace one that we had in our living room.  It's such a good upgrade. I can't wait to get it in place and style it up!
