Life Lately...We're Moving!

 You may have noticed I haven't been blogging as consistently lately or been around as much.  It's because we've been extra busy....

We bought a house! In another state (about an hour away)! Before we sold our current house! It's been a whirlwind and we haven't moved yet but it's getting close.We've been working on the new house to get it move-in ready.  That started with repainting the whole house.

My brain couldn't handle too many more decisions so I chose Simply White by Benjamin Moore (but used Behr paint from Home Depot) for the entire house. It's a warm white even though it looks super white on the paint fan.

Our painter (Mr. Click) started painting as soon as we had the popcorn ceilings removed (yup, popcorn ceilings in some of the rooms).

We had the ceilings removed starting on day 1. What a mess!

We've spent many hours at the new place and "picnic" there frequently.

We also had the carpets removed from this lower level family room and the office. 

We chose LVP luxury vinyl planks for those spaces.  The floors are Lifeproof Sundance Canyon Hickory from Home Depot.

We also had the upstairs floor refinished. They had been painted with a faux finish(left photo) which we didn't like. I love how the floors came out.

We had to strip some wallpaper from the upstairs hallway. Another huge mess and a lot of work but worth it.

Meanwhile back at our current house this was going on.  The house was under contract (yay!)and the home inspection revealed that the pipes from the house to the street had to be cleaned out and replaced (boo! $$$).   Then we got 24 hours of heavy rain.

We also got a beautiful snowfall. I'm glad we got one more snow before we move.

The For Sale sign was updated, getting exciting!  We've been majorly cleaning, decluttering, donating, selling, recycling, and shredding (on repeat)!  We are downsizing and it's painful but I'm glad we are going through everything now.

We went through so many boxes of old documents and receipts and got them down to two legal boxes. We took them to get shredded and it was so satisfying. Needless to say we've been really really busy but looking forward to being in ONE smaller house soon.

I got a new "do" and I'm loving the shorter length.  I hope to have more new house posts soon. I hope you'll stick around for our latest adventure!

{Travel} Memorial Day Weekend-Music, Boating and Furniture

Memorial Day weekend this year was one of our better ones. The weather was perfect and we had lots of fun things on the agenda.

Our weekend started with a concert at a local casino on Friday night.

 This was my concert going outfit. Comfy!

It was our first time seeing a show there and we loved it.

We saw Sammy Hagar and  The Circle. He always puts on an amazing show!!  The man is 71 years old and can still sing his heart out!

On Saturday we weren't planning on it, but went to check out some new furniture  for the deck.  We bought a dining set and I couldn't wait to get it home.

Here's a sneak peek. I immediately put our other set of deck furniture up for sale on Facebook Marketplace and had multiple buyers wanting it.

On Sunday we were invited to the shore to go on our cousin's new boat.

We were the first people to get to ride in the new boat too!  Maiden Voyage!

 It was such a relaxing day and so much fun to boat around the bay.

 I could get used to this!

We docked at a restaurant for lunch, now that's the L•I•F•E!

 I enjoyed a lovely frosé cocktail with my veggie tacos.

We stopped at the Ocean City boardwalk for dinner on our way home and went to my favorite place, The Bashful Banana. 

We had to get back to sell our furniture on Monday.  We grilled out and enjoyed the new deck furniture. I also lit my American Flag Jar Luminaries.  

They are still looking pretty good. How was your Memorial Day Weekend?  It feels like it was so long ago already!

{Scrapbooking} Digital and Done 2014 & 2015

I haven't done an updated digital scrapbook post since 2014 and I recently finished up our 2015 photo album so I thought it was time to share a little.

I must have finished up 2014 awhile ago.   I like adding a photo of all four of us to the cover page.

  I use Shutterfly for the albums and I've been happy with the quality.

 I try and do them in chronological order and fit as many photos as possible. I still leave out a lot of photos but I try to get the best ones.

 It's fun looking back...8th grade?!

 Trips are fun to document and remember.

 And holidays...

2015

 

 2015 was a big year for us: 4 milestone birthdays (16, 21 and two 50's!)

There was a lot of partying!

 We went to Aruba and...

 the beach.

 Visited NYC...

 and celebrated Halloween.

 Did some photo shoots.

 Celebrated the holidays and...

 ended with the back cover (with a photo).

Each time I make an album, I learn something new. I finally figured out I could add a year to the spine of the album.  I'm going to try and be better about exporting my favorite photos to Shutterfly over the year and make a few pages at a time so it's not such a big job at one time.  Then when they're having a sale (like free extra pages) I'll be ready!

*edit* Shutterfly just extended their FREE UNLIMITED PAGES sale until Wednesday. This is an awesome deal if you have a lot of photos like I do!   I might just finish 2017 yet!
