Thrifted Cabinet Update

We found this gorgeous cabinet on Facebook Marketplace a few weeks ago and it's finally all moved in and styled.

As a little reminder, we previously had a black console table with baskets.  We had it for a long time and it worked well for us over the years.

I even did a post back in 2017 when I covered the top in marble contact paper.

Give me a "whoop whoop" if you remember this post! :)  We sold the console table on FB Marketplace and then we had room to move the new cabinet into position. It's slightly longer and taller than the black table.

I gave the drawers and cabinets a little update with some peel and stick wallpaper from Dollar Tree.

I love this pattern!

I also added this fabric storage bin from Dollar Tree. It holds all of Willow's toys and accessories.

Mother's Day Weekend On Our Own

 We spent Mother's Day by ourselves this year and it was still pretty good!  We were heading to NYC a few days after Mother's Day for City Girl #1's graduation so we knew we'd be seeing them both soon.

I was still quite spoiled and got a few (cat themed) cards. They know me well!

We tried a new-to-us cafe for breakfast and it was so good. After that we took a walk around town. It was a beautiful sunny day and perfect for a walk.

We headed to the outlets for some shopping.   I got some things at LOFT and then we stopped at the COACH Coffee Shop.

I tried an iced mocha with oatmilk. Yum!

I took a nap after we got home and we went to dinner later and then for a long walk on the boardwalk to see the ocean.   I talked to both girls and received some really nice gifts.  It was a sweet Mother's Day!

Painting The Island - Going Coastal

 If you saw my last post, ChatGPT gave us the idea to paint our island a coastal  color and we went for it.

We picked Sea Cliff Heights by Benjamin Moore and had it color matched at Home Depot.

I love the description of it!

For a reminder, here's the before. Our home came with a black island and we had added another coat of black over the last year,

Here's proof that I actually helped this time.  

This is how it was looking after the first coat.

We also picked out new cabinet handles and drawer pulls.

I was drawn to the gold but they didn't match each other and since we have a lot of black in the kitchen (and house), we ultimately went with matte black.

You can see here how the golds don't match. I also didn't like the chunkiness of the black pulls.

So we went with these drawer pulls and the cabinet knobs from the photo above.

We love the coastal pop of color in the kitchen.

It's subtle but also really lightens up the room.

Next up is new fabric for the bar stools.

Using ChatGPT For Decorating Ideas and Some Fun!

I finally tried ChatGPT to get some decorating inspiration.

I asked ChatGPT to give me some coastal decor ideas for our kitchen.

How gorgeous does this look?! It inspired us to paint our island and I want to find some of those hanging lamps for over the island.

Here were some ideas for our living/dining space.  It doesn't get everything right like moving our sink area but I love the reimagined spaces.

...more of the dining/kitchen area.  Yes, to the French doors!

I've been wanting to paint the fireplace white and this just confirms how nice it will look!

I asked for a rendering of an addition to the back of the house.

This was an idea for the interior...

...and here's another version.

This was some inspiration for our front entry. I don't think it would work unless I can find a really skinny table but I love it.

I've also been wanting to paint the family room fireplace black so I asked how that would look.

I love it! I definitely want to do this!

You can also ask ChatGPT to show you what your house would look like as a Beatrix Potter type illustration. It's so charming!

{Disney} Disneybound Outfit Ideas for WDW in Summer

"Disneybounding" is creating an outfit inspired by a Disney character.  It can be as simple or elaborate (without being a costume) as you like.  I came up with some outfit ideas that would work in the summer based on some characters that I like.

All of the clothes are sourced from Target, Old Navy, JCrew, Walmart and Amazon. I've been looking at thrift stores as well for similar items.  As you can see, some pieces would work for two different characters like the yellow skirt which could be for Snow White or Winnie The Pooh.   Just change out the top and add different accessories.  Ursula or Maleficent are also a similar dark purple/black vibe and can be changed up with accessories.  Elsa and Cinderella share similar color schemes and can be switched up too.

{Shopping} What's New at Aldi?!

I haven't done an Aldi post since last October...it's been too long!  This one's a doozy so buckle up for some Aldi goodness!  

I like to try the new beauty products and I picked up this setting spray.

There was a Mother's Day section and this satin gift set was in it.

There were also a lot of outdoor products like this solar lantern....

...and these plant towers....

...and a pastel accent rug.

I always check out the candles when I'm at Aldi.

Mugs for Mom!

There was a nice Disney section with everything from housewares...

...to jewelry

Some cute Mickey/Minnie ears, hats, clothing and sneakers.

I was impressed with the ears!

The pricing was so great too.

We picked up this blower a few weeks ago and love it.

There was a whole BBQ section and these baked beans sounded good.

I'm a fan of these mini cucumbers. They seem to stay fresher longer for me.

More gardening items...

...and a Three Segment Candle. 

There was an end cap of Cindo De Mayo items like these chocolates.

This adorable box of teas caught my eye. I thought it might have been from Easter but it wasn't marked down.

I like to keep some of these in my pantry.

I usually pick up a bottle of this when I'm shopping. The price is so good!

There were a lot of German products like these cookies that all sounded good.

These gourmet peaches also looked really good.

This looked interesting and perfect for 2 people.

These oyster crackers were marked down to .69c! I had to get them...now I need to make some soup.

More German products in the freezer. Have you tried the Strudel?

Salmon Wellington?

I did buy these mini tacos and they are pretty good but not as full as the photo suggests.

I also picked up these rolls but haven't tried them yet.

More German food...Garlic Sage Spatzle....

...and Donauwelle Indgulgent Cakes. Yum!

I've seen some tiktoks that this is as good as Diet Coke so I bought some to try. It's pretty close!

The sparkling lemonade always looks so pretty and festive.
