Happy Friday! Here are some things I've been loving lately.

{one year ago}

Celebrating one year in our new home! We've done so much to the house and are loving our new town and area.

OPI Nail Envy. I've been using this polish with the OPI Repair Mode.  I hope they come out with more colors.  This is my favorite neutral called Double Nude-y.

Going to yoga at my local studio. This was a very chill evening class. 

One of my old friends (we met in middle school homeroom!) came to see the new house and Mr. Click's band. It was a fun night!

My beautiful Valentine's Day flowers.  We also went out for a nice meal on Saturday and to see Captain America a Brave New World.  I love the new 'Cap!

These cropped corduroy Maddy pants from Costco. They are a really good dupe of the Anthro Colette pants that I love and a MUCH better price point!  What have you been loving lately?

Beauty (and other) Gifts That I Got For Christmas

I was a lucky lady this Christmas and got quite a few new-to-me beauty products in my stocking.  I think Mr. Click had some help from his daughters  elves in picking out things for me.  Here are some of the goodies that I received.

Beija Flor Elasti-Cream

This lotion is super thick and I wasn't sure about the fragrance at first, it's kind of strong but it dissipates after it has been applied and is much lighter and fresh.

Mooncat Metallic Nail Polish

I can't wait to try this metallic nail polish that I got from City Girl #2. It comes with a metallic wand to position the glitter. Wowza!

Tarte Lights, Camera, Splashes Waterproof Mascara

I love my Thrive mascara but this is a new one that I'll be trying when I need to open a new tube of mascara.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

I've been using this lip sleeping mask every night. It's super hydrating and I love the light vanilla flavor.

Frenshe Hydrating Hand Cream

This hand lotion is in Ashley Tisdale's line of skin care. I keep it next to my bed and I've been using it every night.  My hands feel soft in the morning.

Olaplex Hair Repair Treatment Kit

I love me some Olaplex and having been using it since my birthday last year. It's nice to get restocked (from CG #2).

Foldable 3 in 1 Charging Station

I was also gifted (from CG #2) this handy dandy 3 in 1 charging station for my Iphone, Apple Watch and Airpods. Cool!

Sleepy Body Cream

Ocean Salt Scrub

I love everything from LUSH.  The Sleepy line is so dreamy (for real) and the Ocean Salt scrub makes me feel like I'm at a tropical spa.

Keap Wild Figs Candle

City Girl #2 also got me this very bougie candle. The container can be reused as a wine tumbler when the candle is done burning (and when Dry January is over). 

leopard sweater

I asked for this cute and comfy sweater from Target. It is so soft, I've worn it on repeat lately.

ribbed turtleneck

I also requested and received this brown turtleneck from Old Navy. You can never have too many turtlenecks in my opinion.

Norm Architects Bottle Salt & Pepper Grinder Set

I've been loving this new salt and pepper grinder set and love how they look on the counter too.

Sephora Pomegranate Eye Mask(also got the Cucumber)

Sephora Vitamin E Mask (also got the Vitamin C)

I got a nice selection of face and eye masks in my stocking as well.   I'm excited to try them out!

Mejuri Gemstone Ear Jacket Studs

These cool ear jacket adjustable studs were a surprise and I love them!!  So versatile!

My Beauty Product Empties

I like seeing what other people use in their daily lives so I'm sharing some of my recent faves. 

It's all about beauty products today!

1) ELF cleansing balm - I'm loving this cleansing balm for washing my face at night. It dissolves my makeup and I use a warm washcloth after I apply it. I feel like I'm getting a spa treatment!  I get mine at Target.

2) Dr Denese Avanced Firming Facial Pads-I used these years ago and don't know why I ever stopped.  They exfoliate fairly gently but you have to get used to the "tingling"at first and build up to using them every night.

3) Kirkland Body Wash-I'm on my second bottle and still love the fresh, citrusy fragrance!

4) The Ordinary 100% Plant Derived Squalane Oil-I love a facial oil and this one is super hydrating to put on at night before my moisturizer. I've put it in my hair too.

5)The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane-I try different retinoid products from The Ordinary. This one is in an oil which I prefer.

6)The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% +ECGC-This lasts forever and is used to help with puffiness around the eyes.  

7) The Ordinary "The Buffet" - I go back and forth with this formula and another one but lately this one has been my go-to.

8) Matrixyl 10% + HA-This is what I use when I'm not using "The Buffet".

9)Mad Hippie Vitamin A Serum-I got to try free samples of these two Mad Hippie products. I love this serum for daytime.

10)Mad Hippie Antioxidant Facial Oil-this is another hydrating oil that I've used in my hair too.

A Few Beauty Finds

 I always love seeing other bloggers' beauty finds so I'm sharing a few of my own.

Dashing Diva Nails

These nail wraps are long lasting and come in so many colors and designs. They don't need heat to make them adhere to your nails and they really do last! I found mine at Target for around $6!

Neutrogena Lip Balm

I was looking for my favorite Baby Lips and could not find them so I picked up this lip balm.  It's tinted and comes in lots of colors. I like it but the application is a little strange because of it's shape.

Elf Hydrated Ever After Mini Kit

I love my Elf cleansing balm so much but couldn't find it one day so I picked up the mini kit. Now I have travel sizes of all of the hydrating products. I've already taken them on a few trips.

Olaplex Healthy Hair Essentials

I've heard great things about Olaplex products for repairing and strengthening your hair.  I wanted to try the Nº3 product but saw this whole set at Sephora and decided to try them all. So far I love the Nº3 mask and the Nº7 bonding oil.  I need to give the shampoo and conditioner some more time to see how I like them. Again they are great travel sizes!

Favorite Health & Beauty Products

I've been trying some new (to me) products and here are some of my favorites.

We've switched over to natural toothpaste and I found this one (and the brushes) at TJ Maxx.  It's got a nice minty taste but not too overpowering.

This hairspray has been great and doesn't leave my hair feeling stiff or tacky.  I love the fresh coconut scent of the dry shampoo.

I really don't enjoy washing my face but I don't mind a cleansing balm. This one from elf is very moisturizing and I remove it with a warm wash cloth. No more splashing my face and sleeves!

I was trimming my own hair but have since gotten a professional cut. This is the hair color I've ben using.

I treated myself to some new makeup from Tarte. I love their packaging.

I got two of their palettes and it's been fun to experiment and try new looks with them. I also got some concealer and brow powder.

My Latest Skincare Routine

It was time I got serious with my skin care and when a friend told me that her dermatologist had recommended The Ordinary for dry skin, I started looking into the company.

This was the product that started it all.

The AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution ($7.20/30ml)was the first product that I tried.  It's an exfoliating solution that contains 30% alpha hydroxy acid and  2% beta hydroxy acid.   The dark red color is definitely an eye catcher. While researching the product, I found out that the peel's ingredients help diminish the look of blemishes while smoothing the look of the skin's texture and I'm using it for dryness and dullness. I'll be honest, it stings a little when you put it on (but to me  that is a sign it's working!). It's a 10 minute peel and should be used no more than twice a week. It leaves my skin feeling super soft.

You definitely have to do your research with their products to figure out what to get. I watched a few youtube videos and also read reviews as well as information on The Ordinary website.  These are the serums I've been adding to my routine.  

• I use Niacininamide 10% + Zinc 1%  ($5.90/30ml) as a spot treatment at night for my pores and dark spots.
• I use the Alpha Abutin 2% + HA  ($8.90/30ml) serum in the morning after I cleanse my face to help with spot and hyper pigmentation. I use CeraVe Hydrating Face Cleanser to wash my face.
• I use Matrixyl 10% + HA ($11.50/30ml)morning and evening to help reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

I've also added these products into my routine.

• In the evening I use Granactive Retenoid 2% Emulsion ($9.80/30ml) after the water based serums.  It's very hydrating and gentle and absorbs quickly.
• Some nights I also add the 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil  ($9.80/30ml)for extra hydration.
• I follow everything up with Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA  ($7.70/100ml)both morning and evening.

I've been using this Mineral Sunscreen Stick in the morning after applying my moisturizer.

I'm no expert but it feels good to have a skin care routine that I can stick to. My skin feels softer and definitely less dry.  I also appreciate the very reasonable price points of all The Ordinary products.  I'm sure I'll keep trying new things and fine tuning my routine.

{Beauty} Trying out Nail Wraps

I got a set of these heat activated nail wraps for Christmas from City Girl. 

I've seen them on her and they always look so nice and I was excited to try them out.

 The "before" of my nails --not too pretty.

 I gathered the supplies they suggest: nail  polish remover, nail file, cuticle stick and a hair dryer.  I followed the directions on the package. The steps are fairly easy and straight forward.
1) Clean nails with nail polish and gently push back cuticle.
2) Pick the size wrap for you nail.
3) Heat the wrap for 30 seconds or so and remove from the backing.
4) Apply to nail and give it another shot of the hair dryer. It becomes very pliable and soft when heated.
5) Smooth out the wrap on the nail.
6) Lightly file the excess wrap off the end of the nail and you're done!

 They're not perfect but I was pretty happy with how they turned out for my first time.

The set comes with enough wraps to do an entire mani/pedi and costs about $10. I did my toes too but I didn't get a photo. To remove the wraps, gently warm with a hair dryer and peel off.  This is the brand I used.  Have you tried nail wraps?
