{Garden} Morning Glory Appreciation [And Everything I Planted From Seed]

I've grown morning glories quite a few times but this year they are absolutely taking over and thriving.

This one in the back yard keeps trying to climb the fence over to our neighbors' house.

I'm greeted by these beautiful blooms when I go to yoga in the morning.

They've taken over our Japanese Maple and are climbing the railings of our front porch.

I'm loving all of the different colors we're seeing.

The white blooms are nice...

..deep pinks are eye catching...

...but I really love this deep purple.

The lighter periwinkle is pretty with their darker accents.  

In other flowers planted from seeds news--the cosmos have gone crazy as well. I love cutting them for bouquets.

They've toppled over but are still going strong.

They come in some pretty shades too!

They make me happy!

The naturtiums are just ok, I love their foliage but the flowers don't give much "wow".

I guess I could put them in a salad.

I pruned all of my flowering zinnias last month and they are all about to (hopefully) start blooming again.   I see lots of buds!  I think it was a pretty successful seed sowing year!

Loving Lately...

What I've been loving lately...

These Halloween pj's from Walmart.  They are so soft and perfect for right now when it's been pretty warm. I love the cute cat print.

My orchid bloomed! I've had a few orchids for over a year and one has just re-bloomed for the first time!  Any tips would be appreciated!

I made the easiest pumpkin chocolate chip bars for one of our Sunday Fundays and they were gobbled up. Recipe coming soon.

Loving the early entry perk for executive members at Costco. We can enter at 9 am and we're out of there by 9:30 when the rest of the members are arriving.

This Honeycrisp Apple kombucha is SO good!

Getting to see so many lovely sunsets.

Discovering new places for breakfast.  This looks so beachy!

We like to order a pancake for the table to try them out.

I was craving my Vegan Chickpea Tuna and made it for a Sunday Funday.  Everybody loved it!

We also grilled up a lot of fresh produce that we were given.

I added these burgundy leaves from Aldi to my early fall decorating.

And I always love seeing this face!

{Garden} Here Today/Gone TODAY!- The Sunflower Saga

 Here's the story of the sunflower that grew in our garden.  We didn't plant it but it looked different from a weed so we left it there and let it grow.

Finally, I saw a huge bud and then about a week later it bloomed.

It was so pretty! I thought about cutting it to bring it inside and put it in a vase but I didn't do it. Thankfully, I snapped this photo.

A few hours later, the sunflower plant looked like this (I took this photo the next day so it's a little brown but you get the idea).  The flower head was chopped clear off of the stem.  The culprits: a pack of little birds that were extra active and loud that day.  I couldn't get that mad at them because I think they were the ones who planted the seed in the first place so it was technically their sunflower! 🌻

Speaking of sunflowers, does anyone remember this sunflower photo shoot I did with my daughter in 2019?  It's still a favorite of mine.
