April's Daily Goodie Box

I was lucky enough to get another Daily Goodie Box this month and it was (again) full of fun and interesting new things to sample.
Now, let's dive into this month's goodies.

Peanut Butter & Co -  Mighty Nut Powdered Peanut Butter

You've probably heard of and/or tried powdered peanut butter before but this offering from Peanut Butter & Co was new to me. I wasn't sure I'd like the vanilla flavor but I loved it. It's subtle and the peanut flavor is just right. I mixed it into my oatmeal one morning. Yum!

Bakery On Main - Bunches of Crunches

http://bakeryonmain.com/product-category/bunches-crunches/

This little packet of dark chocolate sea salt "grain-ola" was delicious.  It's loaded with superfoods like chia seeds and cacao and complimented with ancient grains like millet and amaranth.  Each serving provides 10g of whole grains!  You don't even realize it's so good for you because it's so tasty!

Slurpee - Slurpee Cotton Candy

http://www.slurpee.com/

Cherry Slurpee flavored cotton candy?!  Yep, that's a thing!! The container that it comes in just too cute!

EBOOST - Strawberry Kiwi Energy Powder

This is the newest flavor to their energy + vitamin power therapy line.  From their website..."one serving is all it takes to support your natural energy, a brighter mind and healthy metabolism." I need all of that!

Detox Water - Lychee and White Grape

https://www.detoxwater.com/

I've been wanting to try aloe vera water so it was a happy coincidence that there was some in this box. This one was Lychee and White Grape flavor..interesting. I like that it's not too sweet and only 15 calories a serving to replenish electrolytes, vitamin c and vitamin b's.  It's all natural and organic too.

DUDE Products - Quick Dude Shower Wipes

https://www.dudeproducts.com/collections/featured-products/products/quick-dude-shower-wipes-dispenser-pack-8ct?variant=22873157829

I don't quite know what to say about this product aimed at stinky, sweaty dudes but I think the shower wipes would work just as well on the ladies!

#MPWR Skincare - Zip, Zap, Gone! Spot Treatment

http://mpwrskincare.com/zip-zap-gone-spot-treatment/

Zip, Zap, Gone! is such a fun name for an acne treating product.  I love that it's totally USDA certified organic and suitable for all skin types--even sensitive!  The little bottle has a roll on top for dabbing on anywhere you need to use it.  It's not tested on animals which is another plus for me!

Goddess Garden Organics - Everyday Natural Sunscreen

http://www.goddessgarden.com/product/everyday-natural-sunscreen-lotion/

I'm excited to give this product a go when I get out and enjoy the beautiful sunshine we've been having lately.  It's made with plant based ingredients and natural minerals and provides powerful broad spectrum sun protection.

Adamia - Therapeutic Repair Lotion

https://adamiaskin.com/

The secret to this product's healing properties is macadamia nut oil.  This aids in and speeds up the healing process and is especially effective on aging skin and skin tears.  I'm keeping my tube right by the sink to treat my hands throughout the day.

You can sign up to get your own Daily Goodie Box too, no credit card is ever required!

{Recipe} Easy Veggie Soup

This was another one of those soups where I was trying to recreate a soup I'd had at a local cafe. It was all veggies and quite delicious.
Here's my version.  Feel free to use whatever vegetables you have available.
Easy Vegetable Soup
1 medium onion, diced
1 cup carrots, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 cup small broccoli florets
1 small zucchini, chopped
1 cup frozen corn
1 can, diced tomatoes
1-2 handfuls of kale
6 cups vegetable broth
salt & pepper to taste

  • Cook chopped onion and carrots in water to soften. Add garlic and cook a few more minutes, being careful not to let it get brown
  • Add remaining vegetables (except kale)
  • Add broth and bring to a low boil
  • Reduce heat, cover and simmer for about 20 minutes
  • Add kale and cook on low until kale wilts
  • Season with salt & pepper to taste, add any other seasonings you like
  • Enjoy!

{Get Crafty} Peeps Wreath 2.0

When I unpacked our Easter decorations I realized that our Peeps wreath was noticeably absent.  I think it had seen better days and I must have tossed it out last year.
This was one of my first posts EVER and also my first Peeps wreath.  I didn't preserve it and it lasted six years so that's a pretty good run!
Time for a new one!  I found most of the materials at Dollar Tree.

  • wire wreath form (or foam)
  • ribbon (I used 2 rolls of pink burlap ribbon)
  • Peeps (I found some at Dollar Tree and some at the supermarket)

Wrap the wreath form in ribbon and hot glue the Peeps to the ribbon in any pattern or design you like.
Add a little loop for hanging (I made mine out of yarn) and enjoy your wreath!
