{Thrifting} Thrifting Lately: Sweater Weather

I got back into thrifting after the holidays and it's been so fun!  On my first thrifting adventure I found three sweaters and a pair of leggings.
This one is so soft and I love the feminine detail and neutral color.
This is another femininely detailed sweater. I thought it would be good for the summer.
I didn't get the best photo of this striped number but it has the cutest puffy shoulders and a v-neck.
Some new-ish leggings for yoga.  On my next thrifting trip, I came home with three sweaters, a sweatshirt, a workout top and some home goods --oh and a book!
Sweater #1-perfect for Valentine's Day!
This Lauren Conrad sweatshirt didn't look like much on the hanger but I loved the color and it was super soft.
It looked so much better after I washed it!
Sweater #2 - I don't have any sweaters in this color green and though it would be cute for the holidays, I think it's fine for the cold weather we've been getting.
Sweater #3-I was looking for a burgundy sweater and while this J. Crew sweater is more of a berry, it still came home with me.  Willow likes it too!
I like to have layers for yoga these days and this Athleta top was a great find!

I picked up this book for the title and the color of the spine. It looks nice as decor and maybe I'll read it too!
I also picked up this brand new looking Pampered Chef mini stoneware baker.  I've already used it a few times and it's been perfect. The Pampered Chef stoneware is amazing.   I made a half recipe of this old favorite (pictured above).
Mushroom Spinach & Sundried Tomato Vegan Quiche
Yum!
I bought this Pioneer Woman utensil crock because I liked the blue side and was going to put it above my cabinets with some other blue and white pieces that I've been collecting.  Instead, I swapped out my white utensil crock to see how it looked and I'm loving the pop of color on the counter (I keep it turned around because I prefer the blue and white side).  It may eventually go above the cabinets but for now it's fuctional.

One more pic, I'm wearing the heart sweater today! Have you been thrifting lately?

{The Abode} Bi-Fold Barn Doors In The Family Room

We did another little update in the house.

Our lower level family room also serves as a room for guests so we wanted to add some privacy.  We had hung a room darkening curtain on a tension rod but we wanted something a little more private and solid.
We talked to our contractor about adding a door and a barn door seemed like the only solution. The problem with that would be it would cover the light switch.
After doing some research, I found another option--bifold barn doors!  We were able to order the hardware from Amazon and the doors from Home Depot. The hardest thing was measuring (and re-measuring) and verifying with our contractor that it would work.  This is how they look open...
...and how the look closed!
Here it is from the other side.  We are thrilled with this update.   We've been using the doors a lot lately to keep the room cozy when our fireplace is on.    Have you ever seen bifold doors? I'd love to add them to our closets one of these days!

Most Popular Posts of 2024

I always like looking back at the past year's post and seeing which ones were the most popular.  It's no surprise that my trip to India was one of these posts.
Our trip to Disney and Orlando was another popular one.
I think our trips are favorites of yours (and mine) and this trip to Riviera Maya ranked high.
I love a good Trader Joe's haul and you guys seem to as well.  My spring and winter TJ's posts were in my top performers.
This recipe for Easy Peanut Noodles was another popular post.
2024 was a big year for us because we MOVED!!
Thanks for coming along with us!

One Last NYC Visit & Wrapping Up Our Holidays

It wouldn't be January if I wasn't doing a holiday post and wrapping up our year.

We did a last minute card --literally on Christmas Eve but I'm so glad we continued our 30+ year tradition.
We got in one more visit to NYC to see the tree at Rockefeller Center with both girls.
We did a little sightseeing and visited St. Patrick's Cathedra for the first time.
It was so beautifully decorated for Christmas!  We walked along 5th Avenue and looked at Bergdorf windows which were gorgeous too.
We stopped for lunch at a Mexican restaurant and loved this salsa flight.
It was very cold and we did a little more sightseeing and walking around before getting coffee at Black Fox.
I finally got to see the viral and iconic Louis Vuitton building.
Dior looked so dreamy.
The girls had had enough so we went to Central Park by ourselves.  I always enjoy walking around there.
I met this adorable black squirrel who was so friendly.   You might remember how I feel about squirrels, but this one was an exception.
We were staying in Brooklyn at The Moxy. We really liked the hotel and enjoyed a pre dinner glass of wine in the fun lobby bar area.

My look for going out in the freezing cold night.
We had a delicious meal at Pomp & Circumstance.
We walked around looking at the pretty Christmas lights on our way back to the hotel.
We met up with the girls for breakfast at The West.  We'd been by it many times but had never stopped in. It was so cute!  After that we picked up City Girl #2 and her kitty to come back with us for the holidays.
We had the prettiest snowfall during winter break.
I made a big batch of Chex Mix on Christmas Eve eve.
Snapping a quick pic as we were leaving for our Christmas Eve festivities.
Our Christmas morning brunch table.
All of the cookies we baked.
Matching jammies tradition continues!
After the girls left we had a day to ourselves and went to Sandy Hook.
We got to see the harbor seals but I didn't have my camera with a telephoto lens to get any good pics of them. It was so cool and I definitely want to go back!
That weekend we got together with Mr. Click's side of the family for Christmas and this was my look.
Our New Year's Eve sushi tradition but we had it for lunch since Mr. Click had a gig that night.  I was in bed before midnight and up the next day for a special yoga class.
It was a yoga mala which is 108 sun salutations.  Our teacher gave us these prosperity simmer pots.  It smelled so good and I kept it simmering all day long.
