A Sweet (Yet Dry) Surprise!

I love this champagne!

 I get a glass of it whenever we are in France (in Epcot of course!)

Our local liquor stores do not carry it so I was shocked pleasantly surprised when the hubs brought home a bottle of it for me us.

Would it still be as good if I wasn't in sunny Florida on vacation?

We had to find out..it's a hard job but somebody had to do it.

Still crisp, refreshing and ...

delicious!

Best enjoyed by the fire (if you can't be in Epcot).

Freshening up the Mantel

Bye Bye Winter, Hello Spring!!

We're not quite there yet but it's time to change up the mantel.

Adding in a few St. Patty's touches..(spelled out Shamrock with our letter blocks and the birdcage is from thrifting-I had plans to spray paint it but I like the green right now).

The birds are from my daughter's sweet 16 party.

 I thought the mantel needed a little more swagger so I made this 'lucky' pennant banner.{tute to follow}

The console table in the family room with this great subway art.

I brought the shamrock candle holders back from Ireland. {sigh}

The bunny tin is from this thrifting adventure.

It already feels lighter and fresher!

Over exposure?

Dining room curtains...I had a love/hate relationship with the sheers left here by the previous owners.

They didn't look awful but I always felt they darkened the dining room and weren't quite my taste.

I ripped them down to see how it would look.

I love the natural light coming into the room.

But I also feel a little exposed now.  Even though the sheers didn't provide that much privacy, we had the illusion of privacy.

I'm getting used to the wide open windows. 

And I had better because I washed the sheers and when I dried them they became a tangled up, ripped up balled up mess. FAIL!

I've been wanting new window treatments but I'm not sure what I want.  In the interim I'm considering replacing the sheers. What to do what to do?
