{Shopping} Spring Walmart Finds

 I stopped in at Walmart to pick up some more storage containers for my pantry and saw so many cute things for Spring.

There was a whole line of outdoor entertaining things from Mainstays by Becky G & Alejandra.

I didn't know who they were but I looked them up and Becky G. is a singer and Alejandra is her mom. They've done a beautiful collaboration with Walmart that is inspired by their family's journey and commitment to social empowerment.

The pieces all mixed and matched.

I was thrilled to see this kind of beverage glass but made out of non breakable materials.

 The price point was so reasonable for things too.  Everything is under $20.

There was a whole wall of more of their home goods.

The Pioneer Woman dishes are so pretty too.

I noticed that a box of 3 wooden Mason jar lids was $13.42 so the set I found at Dollar Tree was such a steal!

While in the organizing aisle, I picked up two of these shoe organizers. I've since gone back for two more. They area snap to put together and really make the closets looked pulled together while keeping our shoes off of the floor.

I was so impressed with the planters in the garden section. I was way too overwhelmed to pick anything out and I didn't know what sizes I needed.

These graphic black and white beauties also caught my eye.

I love getting a new pair of pj's for the season and WM's Joyspun line is so soft and the styles are on point.

So cute!

I found this set on sale and I love it.  I can definitely wear this shirt as more than pj's!

They had some unique Disney fashions and I was tempted by the adorable Marie tee shirt.

Did you know they carried The Cheesecake Factory's "Famous Brown Bread"?!  I didn't pick it up this trip but I'm keeping it in mind for another time.

{Thrifting} More Thrifting for Spring and Easter!

The last few weeks have been a thrifting bonanza for me. I discovered a few new (to me) stores and went back to some old faithfuls too!

This was a little Goodwill haul.  I like collecting ocean/beach themed books as decor. I usually remove the covers, but this one is too good to take off. I hung the mirror in our guest room and knew City Girl #2 would love this mug.

I found this sweet Easter haul at a small, but mighty little shop.

Here's how I styled the bunny plate.

Another GW haul--graphic Guns N Roses t-shirt, goth Mickey and Minnie tank top, vintage nightgown, gingham shorts and an Athleta work out top.

I had to return the gingham shorts but picked up a different pair of shorts that I liked (and kept!).

I found another small haul from two new spots we discovered on the weekend.

I'm enjoying my morning coffee in my new mug!

I found this cute romper...

...and some frames for CG #2's apartment.

They were half off which made them an even better deal!

This was a recent thrifting haul: brand new adult coloring book, an Easter lot of goodies, Yankee Candle plate, Madewell t-shirt and a beautiful carved wooden tray.

This was what was in the Easter lot. I donated most of it but kept a few of the items.

This was something that did NOT come home with me but I found it amusing.

I did some Facebook Marketplace shopping over the weekend and scored this table for my daughter.

I also scored this beautiful buffet to replace one that we had in our living room.  It's such a good upgrade. I can't wait to get it in place and style it up!

{Getting Organized} Reorganizing The "New" Pantry

When we moved into our new home last year I knew I was dealing with a smaller pantry than in our last house but I was going to make the best of it.   We filled it up with what we could fit and used other cabinets to hold what didn't.  I also have a back stock storage area in our laundry room.

Before we moved in I lined the shelves with contact paper to give it a little bit of a fresher look.  We used OXO pop top containers that had worked out well in our old pantry.

I recently realized that they weren't utilizing the space that well and there was a lot of wasted space in the pantry.

The Home Edit Clear Food Storage Containers

I searched online for taller, slimmer containers and found these from the collection by The Home Edit. They have a line of containers at The Container Store but I found their line at Walmart which were much more reasonably priced. 

Time for the reorganization!   I took everything out and tried to figure out which items we used most frequently and what products could fit in the new containers best. I also pulled out some larger containers that held pasta and baking products and were stored under the island.

After the first set of containers were filled, I was able to order a few more containers for the space.  I love how sleek they look and the air tight lids really push the air out when you close them. There's an audible "whoosh"!

Everything looks so much more organized and easy to find. We were able to move pasta, grains and more baking products into the pantry as well, making the kitchen even more efficient for us.

I'm so happy at how well it turned out and it was another project that made me wonder what took me so long?!  City Girl #2 wanted the old containers so they will be getting another life in NYC!

{The Abode} Updating The Front Door

We're back to doing more projects around the house and this is one I've wanted to do since we moved in. 

This front door is not my style and I definitely wasn't a fan of the color.  I had been wanting to paint it black and finally got around to it!

It only took a few hours and I did three coats of paint.

We let it dry overnight and did a few touch ups the next day.

We LOVE it!  It's a subtle change but one that we are so happy with.

We have lots of the paint left so I'd love to paint the storm door and shutters black as well.   For now we're enjoying our "new" door and porch flowers.
