This is a little upgrade that we've been so happy about.
We added a retractable screen door to our laundry room door that leads out to the backyard pool area. We didn't think a traditional storm door would work or fit and the door opens out so the screen door needed to be on the inside.
I found this one (No Drilling Retractable Sliding Screen Door) on Amazon and thought it might work for us. We measured a few times just to be sure and ordered it. They are made to order so prices vary depending on the size you need.Installation was a little tricky and the directions were not helpful but customer service was good about getting back to us and sent us a link to a video demonstration which was helpful. This is what it looks like when the screen door is closed and in use. We love having the extra ventilation! When it's opened, it completely retracts into the side of the frame.
Here's how it looks with the door closed and the screen retracted. Have you ever seen one of these doors?

What a great idea and it looks good too.
Looks PERFECT - great idea! When we moved in our apartment our neighbors did not want their patio screened. After a few days they realized they did want screens - after the porch was screened they put one of these in and it has been working great for years! Enjoy!
That is awesome..
That sounds like such a smart solution! A retractable screen door is perfect—lets the breeze in while keeping bugs out, and it’s great that it works with your door opening outward. Now you can enjoy easy access to the pool area without any hassle. —like a friendly chat about home upgrades!)

Wow, what a find. It looks good. :-)
Hope you’re having a wonderful Monday
That's such a clever and practical solution. A retractable screen door is a great idea, especially since a traditional storm door wouldn't fit. It's the kind of small home improvement that makes a huge difference in daily life, providing that extra bit of ventilation without any of the hassle. It's smart that you took the time to measure carefully and found a company with good customer service, as that can make or break a DIY project.
That is such a clever way to get a screen door in a space! I have a friend that has one and she loves it!
You will love it also. It looks great!
Thank you also for commenting on my blog post. How kind of you. Happy Tuesday!
I would love having a door like this for our front door. It looks great and will remember that Amazon has this.
