Costco Holiday Haul

It feels like the holiday season once I see the live wreaths at Costco. They are usually in stock by Thanksgiving weekend.

They are always really nice quality for a great price.  They smell amazing too!

Their ribbon is another great deal. I like to buy a new spool every year and I always have leftover ribbon.  I went with this gorgeous peacock themed one this year.

We already got their wine advent calendar but when we saw the 12 Days of Cabernet, we couldn't pass it up.  Mr. Click loves a good cab!

I found this holiday hand soap collection early in the season but it's still in stock at my store. 

Now onto some staples. I picked up this big bag of almond flour. Julie has recommended it and we plan on doing some gluten free baking this season so I'm sure it will be used up.

I was so excited to find this dairy free buffalo sauce!!  I haven't seen it in the grocery store yet.  It is so good on bowls, veggies, tacos and wraps.  It definitely has a spicy kick.

We tried a new coffee and we're really enjoying it.

This was a great deal on coconut milk. I split it with College Girl.

I desperately needed some new workout socks (you can see my old ones in this photo!).

We had to replace our toaster oven after our recent Kitchen Disaster so we were happy to find this Cuisinart Toaster Oven/Air Fryer. We've been loving the upgrade!

This sounded like a good idea for our back porch. It will be nice to have a bright flood light and camera back there!

{The Abode} Disaster to Home Improvement

We woke up at 4 am to our refrigerator water line spraying out all over the kitchen.  We turned off the water but it had already leaked through to the basement and office below.   I called in a restoration company to help us deal with the water. They were quick and so helpful in getting the wet stuff out of the house and drying out the rooms.  We then had to start the process of redoing all of the affected rooms.

This was the office with the rugs pulled up and wet drywall cut out.

The kitchen and adjoining family room had warped floor boards.

We were very lucky that our flooring company could replace the floors and had them in stock to match our recently replaced living and dining room floors.

It definitely got worse before it got better. The subfloors were still damp so the fans had to come back in for another week or so.

Meanwhile the basement was getting a "glow up".  We picked new vinyl flooring in Cocoa and had the walls painted in Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace

We ordered a new rug that I love.

Now onto the family room. That also had to be dried out longer than expected.

The finished flooring was worth the wait.

 

Even our old rug looks nice on the new floors.  I'm so glad the work is finished and we have our house back looking better than ever!!

Trader Joe's-Seasonal & Staples

I've had a few TJ's runs in the last month and the hits keep coming!

 They've had some great holiday and gift options but I've also picked up some staples.

I switched it up this month to brown basmati rice.

This salsa was one we hadn't tried before. The frozen edamame had been out of stock for a long time so I was happy to see it in the freezer case.

We picked up some gluten free pizza dough and a pie crust. I'm excited to try their vegan feta.

For Thanksgiving I tried their Cranberry Orange Relish instead of making it.  It was tasty.  We also made this breaded Turkey-less stuffed roast for Thanksgiving and it was a hit!

Two specialty seasonal snacks.Yum!

A few more gluten and dairy free options.

Some staples in produce.  The dates are a new item.

Harvest Fest, Halloween & Happy Thanksgiving!

 Fall is flying by and Thursday is Thanksgiving here in the states. I've been busy getting ready but wanted to do a quick post.

We went to a local Harvest Fest recently and loved walking through the neighborhood looking at all of the Halloween decorations.

The fest was crowded and full of vendors and shoppers.

Even a Leaf Lady.

...except for this creepy clown who sang and talked when you walked by.  It was terrifying!  I had some video of him on my Instagram Stories.

Mr. Click and I did a quick Halloween costume this year just for fun.

We were inspired by this shot from the movie "It's a Wonderful Life".  How did we do?

Later that day we donned some headbands and bundled up to watch the neighborhood kids parade and give out candy.

We hung out with some neighbors) when it got dark and enjoyed their fire pit to end the weekend.
