{Travel} Valentine's Day in Boston

I got to tag along on a business trip of Mr. Click's in Boston and it happened to be over Valentine's Day❤️. What better way to spend it?

 On our first night we met up with College Girl and her friends for dinner at a Thai restaurant.  Remember these goodie bags?  This is where we gave them out.

 I got to have lunch on campus with my girl on Thursday while the hubs was in meetings.

 Elevator selfie for funsies on my way to lunch.  We checked out of our (business trip) hotel and moved into one with stunning view closer to campus (personal trip).

 Even though it was cold, the views were spectacular from our room.

 This lobby was pretty sweet too.

 The nighttime views did not disappoint either.

 College Girl met up with us and we went out for pizza and did some food shopping with/for her before heading back to our room.

 On Friday we had the day to ourselves(College Girl had classes) so we visited  the Isabella Steward Gardner Museum.

 It's one we've been wanting to see and we loved it.  We went through the just- opened Botticelli Exhibit and then toured the rest of the museum.

 (*Fun fact, if your name is Isabella, you can get into the museum for free! If you wear Red Sox garb, you get a discount.)  Apparently she was a fast driving, cigarette smoking Red Sox fan.  How fun!

 The story of how Isabella Steward Gardner started collecting art and opened a museum is fascinating.

  She had some snappy quotes in the ladies room.

There was a photo timeline of the museum's history and this one explained the inspiration for the original building.

 We also noticed a story about the robbery they experienced in 1990.  It was the largest art heist (over $500 million) in history and is still unsolved. My daughter's friend recommended the podcast Last Seen which investigates the robbery and story. I highly recommend it too. We listened to it on our way home and were captivated! Someone needs to make a movie about this.

We also passed by the college that my grandmother attended.  She met my grandfather in Cambridge while he was attending Harvard. Pretty cool, right?!

 Caffe Nero's cappuccino hit the spot on a cold day.

 That night we got to go to a Northeastern hockey game.

 Hockey is BIG at this school and the game was so much fun!

 The Dog House is the student and pep band section. It wasn't as rowdy that night since the team had just won the Bean Pot.  The next morning we met up with my aunt and uncle who live just outside of Boston.

It was so fun to reconnect with them and spend some time having breakfast with them before we left.  I can't wait to go back!
