We met up with City Girl #2 in NYC for an appointment one morning in November and then had a day to sightsee around the city while she was at work.
We dropped our bags off at our hotel and then headed to Bryant Park.
The Christmas Village was not crowded at all. I'm so glad we got to experience it before the huge crowds.Bryant Park always looks so lovely.
We stopped by the skating rink and then looked for a place to get lunch.
We chose AKB Hotel Bar in the Archer Hotel after checking out a few menus and places online.
I enjoyed this delicious salmon. It was cooked to perfection!
After lunch we wanted to do some more exploring and walked over to Rockefeller Plaza. This is another stunning tree we saw along the way.
It's always fun to see the iconic Radio City Music Hall.
The famous tree was not unveiled yet but you could see them working on it all around the sides on huge scaffolding. Another ice rink!
They had a holiday market too! We stopped at a cafe for some coffee and to wait for our room to be ready then went back to the hotel.
We met up with our daughter at The Ragtrader for dinner. It was a nice meal but I didn't get any photos. (Also City Girl #1 was busy so she couldn't join us).
We had tickets to see The Hills of California at The Broadhust Theatre.Look at us seeing another play (two in two months)!. We're more likely to see a musical but we've been enjoying plays as well. This one was really good!
From our daughter's uber. She's funny (but I do love the photo of us walking home!)
We went to see the gorgeous Plaza Hotel. It was so stunningly decorated.
There's a shop where you can buy a replica of the hat Kevin McAllister wore in Home Alone 2-Lost In New York. There's also a little section about Eloise.
The lobby was simply captivating!
After that we headed to Muji again, we had been there day before and I wanted to go back. I love Muji! I did some shopping and found some really cool items.
We stopped at Macy's Herald Square on our walk back to Penn Station. They had an indoor Christmas Village Market too!
The windows were also still covered as it was right before Thanksgiving but the store still looked incredibly festive!

I love NYC at Christmas time! Looks like a great visit.
I have been to NYC four times- it was all within the span of one month in the summer when my daughter had an internship in Jersey! I can imagine how pretty the city is for Christmas. But it looks so cold! Since I was there in the summer, I associate the city with heat... I would love to see a Broadway play or musical. It looks like you had a great time in the city- getting to see your daughter and the views and a play- how awesome!
Love this! Hena was in NYC over Thanksgiving! You guys packed alot in to your trip. Our son works in GCS and he said it was really pretty this time of year. He takes the escalator to get to his office. He is home for Christmas. Yay! xo laura
Oh, such fun ! Nothing like NYC during the holidays. Noting the places you ate for future trips...maybe next year !
Heather, you did so much sightseeing and fun things on your visit to the city. We went to Bryant Park before it got too busy also. I haven't been to any of those restaurants but I will check them out. I hope you enjoy the rest of the week. Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Oh my goodness what fun! When my mom turned 60, I took her to New York at Christmas time but oh how I long to go again with Mr. Nine! Merry Christmas to you beautiful!
What a fun visit!!

I love Rockefeller Center at Christmas time! I wish I was in New York right now. Instead I'm stuck working carpet cleaning jobs down here in sunny California. Not that I don't love the sun, but your pictures just make me wish I was in a more Christmassy place. Thanks for sharing!
I miss going to NYC around Christmas time. Everything looks spectacular. My mother was a New Yorker and we always went in to see THE TREE and the Rockets every year. Loved all your photos.
I love all the Christmas Trees!! And decorations.
Another fun post Heather, thank you!

That sounds like such a fun visit! There is nothing quite like NYC all decked out for Christmas!
