{Travel} Paul McCartney Concert at Fenway & Weekend in Boston

We had one, last weekend in Boston and it was a fun one. Mr. Click got tickets to see Paul McCartney at Fenway Park in June so we made a weekend out of it even though it was mid-week!

We took our time getting up to Boston(no rushing to a graduation ceremony!!).  It felt kind of strange not going up to see our daughter but she had already moved out of her place.  We had lunch at Eva on Newberry Street. It was such a gorgeous day to eat outside and people watch.

We had some time to relax back at the hotel and then walked over to Fenway. The line was SO long but it moved quickly once they opened the gates.

Hubs got his "Macca" shirt so he was set for the show!

They did another card stunt (like at College Girl's graduation) but this time for Sir Paul. It was fun!

The show was amazing and it was fun to sing along with so many of his hits through the years.  He was turning 80 that week and blew our minds with his energy and talent.

It was awesome to be able to walk to and from the concert venue from our hotel. We high tailed it out of there when it was over to get to our beloved Bukowski's for one last beer and some snacks. It was crowded and we sat at the bar near the Wheel of Indecision.

The next day we did some final cleaning up/moving out at CG's apartment and then headed out to do the Freedom Trail.

We did the Freedom Trail four years ago when our daughter was in Boston for orientation. This time we got an audio tour to go with it.  

We learned so much more this time, we listened to it again on the way home because sometimes it was hard to hear with so much going on around us.

Paul Revere is buried here at the Granary Burying Ground as well some other notable Revolutionaries (but not Ben Franklin, even though there is a big Franklin memorial..he's in Philly!).

We stopped for an Italian lunch in the North End (can't remember the name of the restaurant!).

Making a stop in Quincy Market ...it feels like a farewell tour for sure!

This time we made it to the USS Constitution on the trail.

It's pretty cool that you can just climb on (after going through security) and explore a bit.

We stopped in at another place I'd always wanted to check out... Bell In Hand Tavern, American's oldest tavern.

We didn't feel like going too far for dinner and Lucie was practically across the street from our hotel.  I got the cauliflower steak and sweet potato fries.

We did one more walk around the city before ending our perfect "weekend". We'll miss you, Boston!
