Thrifting Lately

I've been hitting the thrift stores lately and doing pretty well.  Here's what I've gotten lately.
This cute Lauren Conrad green and polka dot blouse caught my eye.I love the pleats, the cut outs in the neckline and the little bows.
I've been wearing this Lauren Conrad (love her stuff!) thermal sweatshirt on repeat. It's got some sweet ruffle details on the drop shoulders.  It's the perfect fall top!
I've been looking for a sweater vest forever. I found this grey cableknit one in the men's department.
This is another Lauren Conrad shirt. It's so feminine and the button down style is different for me.  It's got a little ruffle around the neckline.

I love this Minnie Mouse t-shirt.  Now that's a classic!

This striped shirt screams summer and beach walks to me. It has little side ties to adjust the length.
This has been one of my favorite finds. This Old Navy floral blouse is a great fall transition piece.
City Girl 2 was home on one of my thrifting trips. We found this adorable vintage blouse/jacket for her.
This my my little haul from the weekend.  The ghost candle holder lets off a spooky glow.
The mug is vintage from the 70's. I always look at the bottom of mugs, bowls and plates.
The striped t-shirt is from Boden and so soft. I had it on inside out in this pic(and all day) but luckily I hadn't left the house like that!

Summer Bucket List

Visit the beach

I was in awe of the flowers at this house. Look at the hanging baskets on the porch!

We took a couple of beach day trips and visited some new beaches in the area.  We also took a big beach trip to Mexico (keep reading).

Family Vacation

You can read all about our trip to Mexico here.

Read every day

Besides the three books I mentioned in this post.  I also read:

I tried to make time to read a little every day.  It definitely got me back in the reading habit.

Plant Garden/Flowers from seeds

My garden didn't do that well this year because of the critters but they didn't seem to like our peppers or tomatoes. I planted some flower seeds in with the veggies and potted plants and got some beautiful blooms (before they became ground hog salad).

S'mores on the deck

We only did this once but that's ok.

Go out for ice cream

We got to take our nephew to a childhood dairy farm for ice cream. The cows were WAY in the background.

Try new recipe/revisit old

I can't remember if I tried any new recipes but I did revisit an old favorite.  Recipe for Summer Vegetable Cobbler here.

Yoga 3x/week

I stuck pretty well to this goal and even did yoga four times on vacation in this dreamy spot.

Pizza on the grill

It's just different on the grill!

Farm stand corn

We also grilled the corn in the husks. So good!

Card games We never played any card games so that was a fail.

Outdoor dinner party I'm still hopeful that we'll have a dinner party one of these days!

{Shopping} Aldi Finds-Late Summer/Early Fall

I haven't done an Aldi post since February which is shocking because I go there pretty frequently.  This time, I took some photos and got to look at some new products.

Starting with something sweet. These Assorted Belgian Chocolate Pumpkins were so cute and so were the apples.  I've heard they are very sweet and mousse-like on the inside.
I thought this over the door shelf with hooks could be really useful.
I love these wooden knot decorations. They can be really expensive at other stores.
Apparently the internet is going crazy over these pumpkin shaped casserole dishes.  The came in 3 colors and a a few different sizes.
These wooden lanterns with faux candles in them were nice and tall.
I needed some fall foliage for the mantel and I picked up this stem.
Aldi always has seasonally themed pasta.
There were some seasonal sauces to go with the pasta too.
This pumpkin maple bisque sounds yummy.
Here's another good sized lantern with a faux candle.
It looks like Aldi is coming out with more gluten free pasta varieties.
This is the first time I've seen this hearts of palm linguine pasta.
These plant based options looked good too.
I've been happy with the Lacura Night Face Cream and alternate with my other nighttime face cream.
I love the selection and price point of the Aldi candles.   I picked up a Pumpkin Spice candle in frosted glass.  This particular style has a wood wick.
They tend to carry some great pet products so I always check out the cat items.
I wasn't sure my Willow would like this crinkle sack but it's so cute!
I resisted the soft decorative pumpkins.
These Everything Sourdough Mini Flat bread Crackers were really good.
I also picked up the Everything Almond Flour Crackers and they are a little soft for a cracker.
These Oatmeal Cookie Chunks look like Heavenly Hunk dupes.
These cat treats look like the popular Churu treats.  My kitty likes them!

Aldi always has great deals on doormats. I gave our rainbow door mat to City Girl 2 so I needed a new summer one.  This red truck full of watermelons was it for me!  It's time for a fall one so I'll be heading back to Aldi soon!
