Birthday Weekend Continues: NYC!

Miss High School and I share a birthday week (just 3 days apart) and College Girl was coming home for Fall break so we managed to celebrate both birthdays in a super-sized weekend.  To catch up, we had a very special sweet 16 party  followed by a family brunch  to celebrate Miss High School. The next day we packed up and headed to NYC to celebrate my birthday.

{Where we stayed: The Marriott Renaissance in Times Square}

The hotel had really funky, modern decor.  I loved the furniture and this chalkboard wall.

We had a sweet view of Times Square and the bathroom had some great lighting, not to mention that tile work in the shower!
 We had dinner reservations at The Hummus Kitchen.
There we shared a bunch of small plates of delicious food and lots of hummus with the softest, fluffiest, warm pita bread!  Loved the decor here too!

 We saw The Book of Mormon which was very irreverent, naughty and hysterical.
After the show, we hung out at the R Lounge at our hotel.  It overlooked Times Square with walls of windows on two sides of the lounge.  Very swanky!
 The hotel used simple white pumpkins throughout their seasonal decor.
 {Breakfast at the hotel the next morning}
 Next stop was the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

 I took a lot of photos but I'll only post a few (all Iphone pics).
 {View from the rooftop deck and rock garden}
 {Walking around Central Park--such a beautiful day in the city!)
 {My lunch special at Le Pain Quotidien: Avocado toast, gazpacho and corn & arugula salad with a cappuccino}

Amazing! I've never been to NYC but definitely want to catch a show someday when the girls are a little older and can appreciate it. The Book of Mormon looks incredible! Your hotel looks beautiful and all that yummy food? Yes please! Seriously Heather - the pics of you? Happy 40th!!! I would not say anything if I didn't mean that!
