College Girl turned 19 last week, at college.
{Yay!!! then... sad face}
So,what's a party obsessed (and heavily in withdrawal) mom to do?
Send her a birthday in a box of course!
I saw the idea here and immediately pinned it to my Secret Board on Pinterest (love that option!) since she is on Pinterest too.
You can see it here now that it's no longer a secret.
The idea was to fill a bunch of balloons with dollar bills, blow 'em up and put them all in a box for gifting. Smart, right?
We added our own spin buy filling them with larger (and smaller) bills, little notes and candy.
Miss Middle School also wrote messages on each balloon.
As you can see there are also a few wrapped gifts in the box. I couldn't resist.
I included some silly party favors for her and her friends as well.
I tried wrapping the inside of the box with wrapping paper but it looked awful so we just wrote all over that too.
A college friend of mine was looking for an Valentine idea for her daughter away at school and I shared this with her. She loved it and filled a box with heart shaped balloons to send to her daughter. She was able to tuck a necklace in one of the balloons too.

I'm so glad you posted this! I assume all the balloons made it?? My college daughter turns 19 next month and I've been trying to think of something fun to send. I love this idea!
I have a 19-yr old that I send treats too too. I hope her birthday was fab. I bet she liked getting the box.

I have never seen that idea, how fun! I can just picture her smiling each time she read and popped a balloon, bet you made her day.

I LOVE this! It must have been so fun to blow up all of the balloons and read them, then see what was inside! What a cool birthday surprise!

What a great idea! My granddaughter has a birthday coming up... hmmmm...
She'll be seven so little toys and quarters and a couple of dollar bills might be appropriate for her!
That is the cutest idea!!!! OMGoodness...I have to do this for someone...maybe I will send a box like this but tailor it for my friend who is about to have a baby. Love this idea!

What a sweet and thoughtful idea! I would cry if I couldn't celebrate my son's birthday with him {he's 4 now}... This had to make her day!!
