Photography Class

My blogging time has been even more limited lately because I've been taking an online photography class. I don't know if I'm getting any better but I've been taking a lot of pictures and trying to understand the whole manual setting on my camera. I thought I'd share a few.

Dining Around the {Disney} World - Part 1

For this Disney trip, I decided to take more photos of our food. I mean how many pictures of us in front of the castle with Mickey can you look at?  I am giving our trip a foodie spin.  We always get the Disney dining plan which entitles us to one table service (sit down) meal, one counter service meal and one snack each, every day. We love to plan out where we'll eat our sit down meals and make our ADRs (advanced dining reservations) before we leave. We always want to go back to our favorites but we also like to try new places.  This time we tried four new restaurants!
Here are some of the highlights.
When we got to our hotel we were ready for lunch and quickly headed over to Captain Cook's. We got a noodle bowl of course (it's a must).

We had to get a Dole Whip for dessert. Can you tell it's self served?

This one was a mix of pineapple and vanilla.
We also tried this scrumptious apple crumbly delight.
For dinner that night we went to La Hacienda de San Angel, the new Mexican restaurant in Epcot.

I don't have any photos of the food, fatigue must have set in but I did snap this gorgeous view out the window.
The napkins were fancy too.

The next night we tried another new (ish) restauarnt called Sanaa in The Kidani Villages at the The Animal Kingdom Lodge.  It was described as the art of African cooking with Indian flavors.  The restaurant overlooks the sunset savannah so you want to get a seat by the window if you can.
We started out with Indian style bread service.
We had the choice of three out of four bread choices (we chose naan, onion kulcha and paneer paratha)

and choice of three accompaniments. Here we had roasted red pepper hummus, cucumber raita and coriander chutney.
Miss Vegetarian had the vegetarian sampler with rice pilaf for her entree.

I had the sustainable fish (salmon & scallops).

Hubs had the NY Strip.

My other daughter had the Tandoori chicken.

After dinner we tried a pressed pot of African coffee.  It was very dark and rich..just the kick we needed for a night in Animal Kingdom.
Now on to the desserts...we got one of each and passed them around the table.

Chai cream

Mango pudding

Chocolate cake with raspberry sorbet

Orange sesame cake.
We rolled out of there.
to be continued...

Finding our tree

Every year we go to the tree farm to choose our Christmas tree. This year we tagged it before Thanksgiving because we were going to be away over the holiday.  We tend to go for the, how shall I put this, fluffier trees.

We lucked out with a beautiful day at the farm

Here she is!!  Wait till you see her all decorated!
