I'm participating in Darcy's Sweet Shot Tuesday. I saw my coffee cup and the steam coming up with the late afternoon sun shining through and knew I wanted to try and capture it. I was pretty happy with the results.
As usual, all of my photos are SOOC (straight out of the camera). What do you think?

Whoa! Seriously I am such a novice, how on earth did you do that!
Thanks Sheri, it was pretty much pure luck! I took about 3 shots. I'm a total novice too so it's hit or miss for me.
What a great shot! Sometimes the best pictures are happy accidents.
That deserves a frame and a place in the kitchen near the coffee station. NICE!!!
Thanks girls!
Great idea Sunny!
Gorgeous!
I tried to do smoke from a bbq once and had NO luck. I did better with the chicken. ; )
Lovely photo!
What a clever idea, it makes an amazing photo. Love it. Makes me want some gourmet coco.
That is some hot coffee! Great shot.
For a sooc picture, it looks great !
I feel like we are having coffee together:) I think it is go great that you are experimenting. You go, girl! Cheers...
Great shot! I love this.
What do I think?
I think I want to come over for a visit.
That is the coolest picture I've seen. Great job.

I need to go have another cup of coffee now. What a great capture.

I've been fishing around a bit, and love your blog. My eldest daughter is just turning 15. I love the bedroom redo. I will have to show my ten year old, who is craving some color. We just finished our eldest's room and I blogged about it last week. I am your newest follower!

you did FANTASTIC! i think this is my new goal.. to capture steam! beautiful! :)
Thanks SO much you guys!!!! You are really making my day brighter with all of your nice comments!!! :)
I LOVE it!!!! I've tried so many times to get a shot like this and failed - at least I can look at yours! :) It's awesome, well done!!
Heather...you need to market that photo. Seriously, I can feel the warmth of the mug. Excellent, excellent, excellent!
And I see that your moulding project has been featured on Remodelaholic. It's worthy of being seen by many :)
Ooo... Sweet shot! The steam rolling off the coffee is really nicely captured, too.
Katie, the elements were just right. It was cool in the basement, the coffe was hot, the sun was shining through the right way and it was late afternoon. I was trying to capture the steam but I wasn't sure it would work. Thank you!!
Mel..I should try and get some Starbucks money, right? :)
And..it was a shocker for me about Remodelaholic but a great one. Thanks!
Hannah..thanks for looking!
I saw this and immediately wanted a steaming cup of coffee...which is quite a feat considering I'm sitting here under a running fan because I was hot!
Wonderful shot!
I like this shot! And isn't it great when the coffee is really hot? I had a bum coffeemaker once that never brewed to the right temp. One can only nuke a fresh cup of coffee so many times before it all gets tossed into the garbage!
I used the Keurig to make it...always the right temp!
WOW!!! That turned out great!
Bonnie
so much greatness...light, textures, and subject lol...i think i'm ready for my 2nd cup of the day now....
(I'm having trouble leaving comments on blogger with wordpress...Here is the link to mine.)
what do I think? Well first of all... It made me wish I had a cup of coffee!!! and it is 8 oclock at nite so probably not the best thing to drink right now!! Great capture though!!
What a great shot! I love it...enjoying the beauty in the everyday! :)
