You don't have to wear the crown to be the Queen!
Goodbye Anthony. I'll miss you on Project Runway. :( You kept me entertained and laughing!!!!
Photo:myLifetime.com
Here are some quotes from his last appearance on the show (I can always hope he returns for Fashion week to help out the designers!).
“I don’t want to wear Lego’s; I want to play with them.” Anthony’s comment on Mila’s fabric design.
“I blame Beyonce for all the problems in my life.” Anthony
“Do you think Beyonce has a song about those who can't get a job or who had a horrible interview or something?” Anthony
I found this site that summarizes every episode but I like discussing it with my daughter. Will you miss Anthony as much as I do and who is gonna win the whole enchilada?

Easter Yarn Maze
A few years back the Easter Bunny started making it a little more difficult for my kids to find their baskets on Easter morning. I've seen this idea featured here.
The kids wake up with a piece of yarn tied to their door knobs ( a different color for each one) and they have to start winding it up and untangling the yarn to find their Easter basket. It takes a little longer and makes it more of a challenge. Little Sis still LOVES this, Big Sis, not so much but she is a trooper and goes along with it. Here are some pictures from years' past. It's hard to photograph how it really looks but you get the idea.

Maybe the Easter Bunny does this at your house too. If not, you can email him and ask nicely.

Easter Bunny Bread
Can you stand it? Love this idea and I really want to try it sometime.
Photo from Taste of Home
It's made from frozen bread dough. If you try it, I'd love to hear how it came out! You can find the recipe right here.

Thrift Store Finds
Here's what I scored for the whopping total of about $34 recently at my local thrift store. First off, are these awesome candlesticks. I hesitated but my friend Betsy convinced me that they'd look great on a our piano. I"m so glad she did! (Thanks Betsy!)They were my 'big' purchase at $12/each They really came in handy (more on that later).
Well I am happy to say that I've been using everything. The vase that held the roses, then held some cut down fuji mums from the same party. Now it's holding some little bunnies on the hearth.
The block looked great with my green St. Patty's day decor earlier in the month and it's still sitting on my sofa console now with the Easter decorations.
The candlesticks DO look great on my piano and when we had a power outtage a few weeks ago and filled just one of those puppies up with taper candles, boy did they give off a lot of light! I haven't found the perfect candles to keep in them permanently but I'm looking for a mid-height white taper. Here, they are being put to good use during the storm by my daughter. She entertained us with some tunes. It was lovely!
In the second picture you can see the bunny hutch we featured earlier. So what do you think? Did I do ok at the thrift store?
ps. I went there again this week but wasn't as lucky. I'll post about that on a later date.

Then I found these assorted items:
First off the "C" block is for my little collection of mismatched alphabet blocks that I started this Christmas and the letter "C" is associated with a family name so I also liked that and at .25, it was a steal!
The white vase, well you can see how great it looked with some leftover roses from this party that had to be cut down anyway. Sah-weet!! The glass cheese tray cover caught my eye too. I didn't know what I would do with it but I liked it.
I also found this Pfaltzgraff soup tureen set:
I thought it would be perfect for my buffet in the dining room and had a classic look to it that would pretty much go with anything. Well I am happy to say that I've been using everything. The soup tureen and glass cover are both on my buffet in the dining room. The glass cover sits on a stack of plates and usually I keep some artificial pears under there but right now there are Easter eggs sitting under it.

Radish Hashbrowns
I'm not a big fan of radishes but people were raving about them so I had to give them a try. They are delicious and really don't taste like radishes.
First wash your radishes. I used two small bags of them.
Then thinly slice them like this.
Continue stirring and cooking them until they are golden brown. Serve immediately.
I dare you to try them! :)

Radish Hashbrowns Recipe
Ingredient:
1-2 bags/bunches of radishes
chopped onion (about 1/4 cup)
olive oil 1-2 TBS
seasonings of your choice:
garlic powder
salt
pepper
onion powder
rosemary
crushed red pepper
oregano
Thinly slice up the radishes. Heat olive oil in pan. Saute radishes and onion, add seasonings to your taste. Keep stirring and sauteing until radishes are browned. Serve immediately.Pin It

Gingerbread Bunny Hutch
I bought an adorable Bunny Hutch kit at Joanne Fabrics the other day and look who got right to decorating it.
I tinted some coconut for grass.

Working very intently on her design.

Springtime Baby Shower
My friend Gail planned and hosted this incredible baby shower for her sister Lesley. It was a springtime theme with rubber duckies and spring flowers everywhere along with pops of aqua and lime. Gail's beautiful home set a stylish backdrop for all the bright colors and springy accents. It all looked so chic and inviting!

The food table was set up in the dining room.
The homemade (by Ri) banner says "And Baby Makes Three" which was the theme of the invitation and now hangs in baby London's nursery. What a great keepsake from a special day!
Look at the diaper pins being used as napkin rings! Ca-yute!
The dessert buffet looks like it's right out of a magazine. Hello Martha!
This was a really fun craft for the guests. They got to paint one-of-a-kind onesies for the baby. Don't they look sweet hanging up in the kitchen?
The guest of honor along with some friends and family.

I'd like to buy a vow!

I searched awhile for a wedding photographer because the photographs were the most important aspect of the whole thing for me. I found this guy and loved his style. Maurice did a wonderful job with our photos and was such a calm, sweet presence while we were going through everything!

Album charms-DIY
I love my scrapbooks but I when I wanted to look up a photo I'd have to look through all of them to find it. Can you say frustrating?
Creative Memories sells these nifty album charms at $10 a pop, I wanted to try a DIY (and cheaper) version of the charms.
This is how my albums looked.
Well I put my thinking cap on and hit ye old craft store for some supplies. You'll need:
and a print out of your dates
First pop out the little plastic cover on the charms. Use this as your template to cut out your album information. Then pop it into the charm and put the plastic cover back on.
Here's the back of the charm.
Next, attach the lanyard hook and you're done.
Viola, the finished product! So much easier to find what I'm looking for (and about $1/piece!)
