Friday Phone Dump Week 13

I didn't take too many photos on my phone this week.
Younger daughter's soccer champs.
Older daughter's self portrait at a local university art show.
My self portrait.

 Breaking out the lawn equipment.
Just after my pedi.  My toes are beach ready!!
Saw some kids we know in a high school musical last night. So good!!

We got to watch it with this precious little guy.

This is what dinner looks like with two vegetarians in the house.

"artistic" shot of my pedi and those lovely dandelions.
Some new reads from the library.

{Getting Crafty} Easter Egg Garland

When I was unpacking the Easter decorations this year I found a brand new bag of plastic eggs.
I wasn't sure why I had bought them since we don't really "do" egg hunts here on Easter morning (sniffle) anymore.
Then I remembered that I had wanted to make an egg garland last year but had never gotten around to it. This bag of 42 eggs from Walmart was just the thing I needed.
The eggs had little holes in each end so they'd be perfect for making an easy Easter garland.
I strung them together on ribbon using a big needle. I had to do each side of the egg separately and then close the egg as I went.
The threading of the eggs went very quickly and before I knew it, I had this.
It was quite a long garland (being 42 eggs and all...)
The garland went right up on our dining room mirror with a little peak in the middle since it was so long.
In the mirror it looks like a double garland of eggs and it swags nicely.
Super easy, cheap and fun.

{Recipe} Stuffed Zucchini Boats

These were hearty and delicious!
I used a couple of different recipes and made up my own.  Cut your zucchinis in half and hollow them out.   Put them on a foil covered baking sheet.
Chop up onion and red pepper.
Get your ingredients together.  I used Trader Joe's beefless ground, marinara sauce, garlic, rice and cheeses.
Start with some olive oil in your pan.  Heat on medium.
 Saute the onions and pepper.
Add the beefless ground to warm.
Stir in the cooked brown rice.
Add marinara sauce or diced tomatoes.
Stuff the zucchinis with the beefless ground filling.
Sprinkle with cheese.  I used Daiya vegan cheese and nutritional yeast for the Vegan.
Bake for 25 minutes at 350.

Spring Mantel Party

Out with the St. Patty's Day decorations and in with the Easter pretties.
I love decorating for every holiday but something about Easter, just makes me happy!
I love all the colored eggs, bunnies and chickies.
These vintage-y eggs are from Joanne's. I bought one for each of my girls.
Mom gets to use them right now.
I think these grassy bunnies are from Joanne's too.
I didn't buy anything new this year and the mantel looks pretty much like it did last year.
The bunny tin is from this thrifting adventure.
I think I have enough.
Don't you?
The candles, birds and birdcages have been hanging around, they're not going anywhere.
I was a little camera happy today.
The little brownish bunny is so old, I don't remember where I got him. The nests with the pink eggs are from Home Goods.
Just scroll down, the photos are almost done!
And a sneak peek of some more Easter decor.
