If you're nervous about sushi making, starting with vegetarian might be the way to go. You won't have any raw fish worries and will still end up with delicious sushi. Start by making the sushi rice. We used this recipe. While your sushi rice is cooking, assemble your ingredients.
We sprinkled some black sesame seeds on some of our rolls.this tutorial for filling and rolling our sushi (they also show you how to make sushi without a mat). Keep a bowl of water nearby. It helps to wet your fingers to spread the sticky rice and you'll also need it to close up the sushi when you roll it up.
