We are coming along with this room.
Let's go in the 'wayback' machine and see what it used to look like.
{this was when we were looking at the house}
When we moved in we painted it pink and lavender and added her loft bed.
We changed out her bed and added white furniture from Ikea.
The bed is a family hand-me-down heirloom sleigh bed that we painted white.
The theme was garden fairy.
That was then.
{see how she used to look and how she looks now}
So the pink and fairies had to go.
This was her new color scheme.
The paint color is Benjamin Moore Tropicana Cabana.
It is similar to our new bathroom color.
This is Benjamin Moore Peacock Blue.
You can see the blues are actually different.
You can see the blues are actually different.
We moved everything out of her room except her desk unit and dresser.
It all went into the spare room.
The hubs painted the room.
Loving the new color!
We took a trip to Ikea to pick up her bed too.
Of course it had to be assembled so many hours later it looked like this!
It's the Hemnes daybed that can be pulled out to a full size bed and also has drawers underneath.
This dresser was feeling a little too large in the room now and not as necessary with the bed drawers so I put it up for sale on craigslist (I think I'm addicted!) and it was sold the next day to make room for this little beauty.
See, she's had her eye on this lovely piece for some time now.
It's got some charming details (there is a key for that lock but I couldn't find it when I was taking these photos)
This knob is so gorgeous and matches her room perfectly.
The bed can be pulled out and it all fits!
The bedding is PB Teen Bella Floral
Oh and look who made it up to her room to join the party.
Steve loves his new home!
We're still working on organization, artwork and window treatments.
to be continued...

Wow! It's looking great! I love the fresh new colors - perfect for a bright and happy tween room. And that bed - I sooo wish there was an Ikea here. Sigh. :)

I'm loving this room! The color is super gorgeous. We are in the process of fixing up my 7-year-olds room and it is only pink, pink, pink. I seriously hope she grows out of it!
I love it. Your tween has great taste!
Looks great. Love the new color and bedding. Yes, they out grow their old rooms.
*sigh* They grow up so fast huh.
Love the colour, adore the new night stand and I covet that new bed. I didn't even know that they had that model that converts to a double. I'm going to keep that in mind for when I win the lottery :)
Fantastic so far, keep it comin'.

It's looking like a 'tweens dream come true!
The paint color is absolutely gorgeous!
We are about to re-do our girls room (14 & 11) and we're thinking of doing the beds with the drawers underneath...(pottery barn inspiration but probably from somewhere else).
Cute room so far!

Wow! I think it's a beautiful room for a beautiful girl! They do grow so fast, don't they? I loved the fairies, too - but this is so becoming for a young woman. The color is great, and you have fantastic taste in decor.

perfect snapshots.
so good to see you grow from a little girl to a big one.
Wow, it looks gorgeous! I just redid my daughter's room a few weeks ago. Now its purple...with fairies... I just love the transition photo collage you did too!
WoW! I love what you've done with the room. The color is amazing...I think I have a shirt that color too.
I'm afraid my hands are only good for writing poetry and holding my wife's hands (lol).
Great photos. Thanks for sharing.

And a happy tween at that Heather. Love love love the color and the bedding. Great job!
The color is sooo pretty! It looks like the perfect teen room. For organization I have seen a bunch of pretty storage solutions at Target especially in the dollar spot. They also have some tubs in the kitchen (entertaining) area that have pretty colors that will work well with her room (if she has the need for them). Good luck and I can't wait to see the rest:)
Great job, it is looking good!
Such a pretty and bright room -- what a great transformation for advancing from young girl to young lady. She made very pretty choices.
This is so great! I loved her room then and I love it now. It's perfect for an evolving girl growing into a young woman.
Oh, the room is looking great. Love the color of the walls. I cried when my only daughter wanted her room changed from a cute frilly pink and white to a Teen room. They just grow up too fast. Can't wait to see more. Thanks for sharing. Karie
Very nice update. I love that the knob matches the room color.
I am in LOVE with that paint color! Makes me sad to see her in a photo looking like my daughter's age, and then seeing her all grown up. Kids grow up too quickly! Thank you for linking up to What I Whipped Up Wednesday!
So cute--I love the turquoise and all the white furniture. great job!
Her room is just too cute. I know she must be loving it. Thanks so much for sharing. Happy to have found and followed you through White Wednesday.

Thanks for a perfect link to the letter 'P'.

Room redo's are my favorite projects to look at, especially for teenage girls. It's so fun to see what they liked before and after :) You did an awesome job. I am sure your daughter loves it and is very thankful! And I agree with the CL addiction...
