Remember this little ditty I did for Christmas?
Let's just say I had a lot of candy canes left over.
I experimented with some heart shapes and liked this design.
I pulled out my glue gun and got to work.
I was using the high temp glue gun and I had my bowl of ice water right by in case I burned myself. {Martha tip}
I use the lid of the box to protect my work surface (you can see it's been used a lot!)
First I made individual hearts and let them set up.
Once I had a few hearts together, I started to connect them to each other.
I should have put some wax paper down to keep them from sticking to the granite but this butter knife worked just fine to pry them off carefully.
Once I got going, the wreath form came together quickly.
I left the wrappers on because I thought it would be easier to work with them that way. The wreath felt a little flimsy so I gave the center another good shot of hot glue.
I cut some circles out of card stock to give the wreath even more stability.
I made a large one for the back and a smaller one for the front. I wanted to cover up the hot glue and the wrappers in the middle.
I hung it up to see how I liked it and it just needed something more.
I cut a heart out of some card stock
and added a red bow left over from my Christmas wrapping to hang it.
Even though it's a little early for Valentine's decorations, I'm enjoying the pop of color it gives to the door.
So once again, I've made a wreath out of candy.
I've made one out of...
Candy...
Candy canes... and
Candy corns...
I'm feeling very Buddy The Elf right now but don't think I can make a wreath out of syrup.

Cute ideas. Happy REDnesday! ~ Sarah
I think you just saved me from a bunch of calories, because I've got a whole big box of candy canes lurking in the cupboard, and now I don't have to eat them! I love your valentine wreath, and I'm really crazy about your candy corn one too. Although I don't think I'd hesitate to pick those off and eat them, glue and all!
Happy REDnesday!

Happy Rednesday,

P.S. I was thinking as I was typing about a wreath for Buddy ... how about waffles (or was he eating pancakes???) on the base with little pitchers of syrup added decoratively ;)
I love this!! I'm going to follow your blog :) What a great idea!

I love this! We have tons of candy canes left over - we hung them on the tree, but AJ wouldn't let me eat any of them before Christmas! I hope he didn't eat them while he was home today, because I want to try this now!
