{Travel} Chicago Day 3-The Bean, Riverwalk & Hamilton!

It's Day 3 of our Chicago trip recap, if you need to catch up, here is part 1 & part 2.
This view was so amazing to wake up to (and coffee is nice too!).
We started our day with an early tour at University of Chicago.
The campus was beautiful and the tour and information sessions were great.
After the tour we took another Uber ride over to Millennium Park to see Cloud Gate, also known as The Bean.  That was on my bucket list of things to see in Chicago for sure!
So many fun photo ops to be had!
I snagged this one from Miss H/S.
She took this one of her parental units.
We explored the park a little and then decided we needed food (we also had a big surprise for someone).
We had lunch at Tavern At The Park which was a pretty short walk from Millennium Park.  This was where we surprised our daughter with Hamilton tickets for that night. We had just purchased them that morning and it was not even on my radar as something we could do in Chicago. Well turns out, you can buy reasonably priced tickets there and we did!  That was a fun surprise! I'm glad we gave her some time process it all before the show.
We decided to check out Riverwalk because we were close by and had seen it the night before but didn't make it down there.
I'm so glad we checked it out. There were loads of restaurants and shops and boats going by. It was so pretty....even in the rain!
This sign was at a coffee shop we stopped in to get out of the rain.

I could sit there all day to people-watch and see the boats and kayaks float by.
I was going for an artsy shot here.
It was time to get back to the hotel for a little rest before our night out (and listen to the Hamilton soundtrack).   I enjoyed the view with some rosé as I got ready.
I love this photo even though it's blurry, you can tell how excited I am!
The mood outside the theatre was so festive and brimming with excitement. My hubby was asked to take quite a few photos of giddy people before the show.
Our seats were way up high but it didn't matter. We were at Hamilton!! It was surreal to finally be able to experience the show live.
It lived up to all of the hype and more!!  I want to see it again (and again)! After we got back to the hotel we ordered some Chicago style pizza (not deep dish) and it was so good!

How fun Heather! We are living parallel lives! My son and I leave for NYC in two weeks for a college/city! We are going to Book of Mormon! How hard was it to get tickets to Hamilton in Chicago?

Fun college tour! xo laura

I'm working on my comments thing again! Take 2
