Ireland - Part 8 Saying Goodbye

After all the excitement of meeting Matt Lauer subsided (it still hasn't - who am I kidding?), we headed here for lunch.
Mac Diarmada Pub -also called McDermott's- in Doolin,  is close to the Cliffs of Moher and The Burren (more on that later) so it was the perfect spot to stop for lunch.
I walked around the pub and took some pictures of the countryside.
I loved these stone walls along the roadways.
After lunch we went to see The Burren.
According to the website,The Burren is
"from the Gaelic word Boireann is an area of limestone rock covering imposing majestic mountains, and tranquil valleys with gently meandering streams. With its innate sense of spiritual peace, extraordinary array of flora and wildlife, and megalithic tombs and monuments older than Egypt's pyramids, the Burren creates a tapestry of colour and a seductively magical aura which few people leave without wanting to experience again."
This part kind of looked like the moon.
You could walk all over and then see out to sea.
Our last night in Ireland was truly magical and special but I have no good photos of it.  We were entertained by candle-carrying young female singers, standing on the staircase of 'our' castle and then had a lovely cocktail hour followed by the awards dinner. Then more entertainment by the Irish Tenors--I KNOW!!  It was an insanely good trip. Hope you enjoyed sharing it with me!
Who's ready to go on the next trip to the Emerald Isle?
