Scenes From a Snow Day

Yesterday we were socked with another winter storm and had a snow day(today is day 2).
I prepped the day before (just in case).
I'm really over the snow but it's hard not to appreciate it's beauty.
We weren't sure how much snow we'd get (we were in the 4-18" range). I think it was about a foot based on my feet.  The official total was 16".
Miss High School and I went for a walk-we love our snowy winter walks.
Our street hadn't been plowed yet but a small plow arrived while we were walking.
We went up to the main road, it was so empty!
I think the blue snow is so pretty.  (Explanation of blue snow here).
Inside, I made up a snow day essential oil diffuser blend.
I made my No-Chicken Orzo Italian Wedding Soup which was great to have after shoveling all of that heavy snow.
I enjoyed the fire in the fireplace....
...and did a lot of snow watching!

Hi Heather, we had a lot of rain and then yesterday afternoon it started snowing here. We got a total of about 4 inches of snow. The snow is already melting here! The walk must of been nice and I love your photos. I can't wait for no more snow and spring. :0)

What gorgeous photos. Snow always makes a landscape look amazing even if getting about in it isn't so easy! #weekendbloghop

We actually do have blue snow because of a new deicer the city is using that is supposed to be more environmentally friendly. Ironically they had to send out work through various venues because people were concerned about the environmental impact of the blue deicer they had moved to instead of the traditional sand and salt. Go figure.

I am ready for some Spring.

I'm so sick of snow. I'm ready for Spring. We got 15 inches of snow yesterday & lost 3 trees. My daughter & I didn't leave the house. I tried to get her to go out & make a snowman, but she said it wasn't fun alone. I was hoping that this might be the last storm, but they are already saying that we might get another storm next week.

It is beautiful Heather. I like your snow day diffusing recipe. :-) It is kinda of fun to have to stay cozy. ;-)

Hi Heather, I do enjoy looking at other peoples photos of the snow, but I'm not sure how much I would enjoy it if it were on my doorstep. Just the thought of it makes me shiver with the cold. Hope the weather clears up for you soon.

How often do you actually get snow? Not even amounts that crazy, just like one or two inches? I have to also go read the blue snow explanation, I don't think I have seen the blue snow effect before. And lastly, your grocery stores look like the ones in California... I was able to prep for a potential tsunami while picking up edibles.
