{Traditions} Cranberry Bread

We make this bread once a year and we make a lot. It's much easier these days with a food processor and a lot of helpers.  We used to do it all by hand.

There is a lot of prep work to be done.
Halving the oranges

Grinding up the walnuts..
Whisking the eggs...

Measuring out the dry ingredients...
Now the walnuts are all processed..
Time for the cheddar cheese...

Lots of it! The bread doesn't taste cheesy, it just adds a richness.

Start mixing the cheese in with the other dry ingredients.
Add some freshly grated orange peel
Have your helpers juice some oranges..
Time for the cranberries..
Chop them up in the food processor
All that freshly squeezed orange juice
Combine all the wet and dry ingredients now. Use a very strong spoon or you may lose it in this thick dough.

We usually need more than one bowl or pot to mix it all up in.
Get your mini loaf pans ready.
Do a little bread cheer..
Pop them all the oven and wait.....

It's so worth it!

Okay, this sounds amazing...I love orange and cranberry together -- actually made orange cranberry cookies this past Christmas. Will definitely have to give this recipe a try.
