Thrifted Cigar Box Storage Solution

I found this great cigar box  at Goodwill on one of my thrifting adventures in January.
It had been sitting on the living room coffee table since I bought it.
That was until yesterday when I cut some roses from my garden and added a shell (also thrifted and so is the vase) to the copper tray in the family room. It looked nice but I needed a little something more and the cigar box did the trick!
It's doing double duty because it corals all of our remotes and other small items(like my mouse and card reader) that I like to keep handy.

Now I have a new, slightly styled area to gaze at when I'm sitting out there.  Miss Middle School even noticed and complimented the arrangement last night! Score!!

That is such a cute idea Heather. My husband smokes cigars and I never thought to keep a box to do something like this.

I am loving this idea! It looks great and I love that the remotes are hidden. I always hate that mine are out because they don't match my white + blue summery decor ;)

Love it! My mom used to have a bunch of old cigar boxes that I was fascinated with as a kid!

We used old cigar boxes in our desks at elementary school...to store our pencils, erasers, etc. Yesterday's necessities are todays antiques and vintage finds. Guess that means I'm OLD! :)

I was going to comment exactly what Kathy said! Guess that makes since she's my sis :). Love that you are storing the remotes in it, I get so sick of seeing them scattered everywhere.

What a perfect solution and it looks fab! That's what I love about thriving, sometimes when you purchase the item you don't exactly know what you're going to use it for, but you know you'll use it and when you do it will be perfect!! I think we're going back out today to search for a coffee table option. Wish us "thrifty luck" haha!

Great idea. I recently purchased a basket for remotes and such. Works great and it helps keep things tidy.

I'm visiting your site from Handy Man, Crafty Woman...

The cigar box you show in this post is also in mine (linked in the same party) What are the odds?

I use the boxes all over my house- especially in my office.

Thanks for sharing --- great idea!!

How strange is this... I dropped over to your post from Handy Man, Crafty Woman.

I have the same cigar box in the post I linked up to the same party! I use them all over my house... especially in the office.

They do come in handy, don't they?

That's a cool idea! I usually end up leaving my remotes out or schlepping over to the tv stand to put them in the drawer (annoying). Your solution is much cuter and quicker. :)
