Charleston/Savannah - Day 2 {Downtown Charleston}

Day 2 arrived bright and early (very early when the airline called at midnight to tell us they found our  lost bag but couldn't do anything about until they opened at 10:30 the next day).
The sun was shining and it already felt warmer.  These guys were ready for the surf.
We also hit the beach for an early morning shell seeking walk.

The underside of the long private fishing pier.
The tide was going out...
This was a funny looking jellyfish.  I thought it resembled a mushroom.
{my pedi still looks pretty good}
Beautiful homes along the water...
I got her to pose for some more pictures.
{waiting patiently for her suitcase to arrive}
I even got some pictures of this one.
 I needed some "senior" type photos of her.
My husband picked up the lost suitcase (rather than waiting around all day for it) and we headed out to see Charleston.
Crossing the bridge into Charleston.
Our first stop was lunch at The Five Loaves Cafe.  Miss Vegan had researched and found this place which looked vegan friendly. It was a little after 11:00 on Saturday and the place was almost packed (good sign).   The food was fresh, different and delicious.
With our bellies full, we were ready to take on the rest of downtown Charleston.
Here are just a few pictures of the incredible architecture all over the city.

I even saw a bride and her bridal party posing for her photographer.
They were getting one of those "busy street" shots and stopped traffic for a few minutes.

Charleston is a great walking town and we walked everywhere.  I definitely wanted to see Charleston City Market.  Woah that place is long, you keep walking and walking through thousands of vendors (ok, maybe not thousands but it felt that way). We ran into some friends from back home in there too!

After City Market we were pretty tired and started to walk back to our car.  The teen stopped at Urban Outfitters to do some shopping and the tween got some fro-yo.
I just kept taking pictures.

Everything was so pretty! Even the street lamps and telephone poles were covered in greenery and flowers.

We went back to the condo to relax for a bit before dinner.  We chose Taco Mamacita's in Sullivan's Island (a nearby community) because it also looked vegan friendly and we love Mexican food.

This place was loud, casual and fun! I loved my fish tacos!
As well as my skinny margarita.
We drove around for awhile after dinner and ended up back in Charleston along the waterfront.
Then we went back home to the condo and out on the pier for more photos and views.

What a great dad to go pick up the suitcase so everyone could start enjoying Charleston, and its great that your daughter found so many vegan friendly places! And I definitely see the mushroom in the jellyfish.
