Prom Shots
My daughter's prom was last month and I think I only posted a photo or two.

A Lil' Thrifting
Finally, I'm finding some good stuff again.
It's like my creative juices were hibernating all winter too.
Just a few nifties.

{What's for Dinner} Shrimp on a Stick
This is my favorite grilled shrimp recipe. It just screams summer to me!
It's from Family Fun magazine. You can see it here.
Start with a pound of peeled, deveined and rinsed raw shrimp.
Toss with of olive oil (I used 1/8 cup)
and two cloves of garlic, crushed.
Stir in 1/4 cup of breadcrumbs (I used 2 TBS).
Thread the shrimp onto skewers.
Get the grill ready..
Grill the shrimp skewers over medium heat for about 2 minutes each side or until they are opaque (I was making salmon too).
These cook so quickly!
So tasty!
When they are done you can add salt, pepper and a squeeze of fresh lemon if you like.
Sometimes summer comes early!

Give Me Flowers
I'm having so much fun making little arrangements with the flowers from the garden.

Friendship
We recently went to dinner with friends and each couple brought two bottles of wine. I thought these corks represented our friendship that evening.
Before and After
That same evening, I snapped a picture of the quiet restaurant before it was busy.
And the four of us walking back after a great meal.
Dark
It was one of those sunny then dark and rainy afternoons and we spotted this double rainbow while we were driving in the rain.

Spray painting again!
One of the many joys of Spring, I can get back outside again and spray stuff with paint!
The most recent victim was this little birdcage. It used to look like this and I found it on this thrifting adventure at Goodwill back in November.
It stayed in that "as-is" condition in the garage until I brought it in to decorate the mantel for St Patrick's Day when it looked like this.
There was just enough green on it to go along with the other greenery.
It stayed up there when I decorated for Easter.

The 80's style green and pink decoration kind of worked with the pastels of my other decorations.
Once the Easter decorations came down, the mantel was looking like this.
I'm still digging the creamy whites and neutrals.
But something was sticking out like a sore thumb.
{say that 10 times fast}
Oh and I forgot to mention the price.
Sweet!
So since the weather was finally warm enough, I went to work on the birdcage with some of my favorite Heirloom White spray paint.
Now the mantel is looking like this.
I've added in a few fresh cut flowers from outside for a pop of color.
I think it looks much better now.
Bye Bye 80's green and pink.
